Re: back to MM4 but still various issues

I just did that, and at the very first task after a fresh start with the clean db, there was this neverending cascade again of error messages saying that a thread could not be created due to lack of storage space. So I guess the trouble is not (only) in my DB but in MM4 as well...

back to MM4 but still various issues [#8314]

Hello, After having used MM3 to clean up the major parts of my messed up big 95.000+ library, I am now back in MM4 again. Seems it works better than before, but I still have a number of issues - with MM4.beta 1416: ● often very high CPU and memory usage, not clear what for ● often very slow in loadi...

Re: How to UN-select after 'select ALL'

Ok, then I know that now. Thanks.
But shouldn't it work the same way all windows un-selections work?

How to UN-select after 'select ALL'

Both in MM3 and 4 it is difficult to un-select a selection, especially if all available tracks have been selected. Normal Windows use is: just click one file/track and all other tracks will be un-selected. But not in MM. You have to click a track OUTSIDE the selection. But in cases ALL tracks have b...

Re: Sending Error Reports often fails...

Hi Rusty, Yes, the high CPU usage was remarkable too (also happens in MM3 often, by the way!) but I simply thought that was caused by the fact that my library is big. But apparently not? And do I understand well that you could really DETECT the cause of that high consumption - and repaired it? I don...

Re: How long should Optimize database (complete) take?

I seem to come across new strange phenomenons every time, also now I am back in MM3. After CleanDB I ran MM Optimization Complete tool for 12 hours, overnight. Saw no CPU activity from MM when I woke up again, but the everlasting Windows circle was still spinning. Stopped MM with the TaskManager and...

Re: How long should Optimize database (complete) take?

My big db (475MB, 90.000 tracks) is being optimized completely at the moment. MM3. For 2 hours already the Windows7 'busy circle' is turning, but I cannot see any progress, nor do I know how long I should expect to wait till I can continue working. I assume there is no time indicator like a progress...

Re: What if ALL track info is from completely different trac

Will start experimenting with it, once I have cleaned other rubbish and dirt and maybe more or less isolated those 'messed up tracks', then try to find out what is really what...
Thanks.

Re: What if ALL track info is from completely different trac

What does that mean? Audio finger print?
A guess: Completely analyze the audio structure of a file and compare it with other files?

Any idea how things can have been messed up that much?

Re: What if ALL track info is from completely different trac

Nope, apparently the files have been processed - most likely at my order - to be renamed and moved to locations according to their library tags. So if they were wrong ALL is wrong. Then what to do?

What if ALL track info is from completely different track?

Don't ask me how it happened, but after a lot of retagging and rescanning some of my tracks - but I don't know how many, got completely messed up with completely wrong track information. All tags and other info belong to a totally different track in the library. As a result I came across a few stran...
