Re: Extra ripping+organising controls

Problems with <extension> tag- 1) It's not on the pulldown menu of options in the ripping window (not sure why?, does this mean there are other hidden tags?). 2) When ripping a CD to FLAC format, <extension> evaluates to "cda" NOT "FLAC", i.e. <extension> is the CURRENT file type extension, not the ...

Re: Extra ripping+organising controls

Cool, i'll take a look at the <extension> tag. Audacity is a great tool, but it decodes/recodes MP3s on editing, which implies some quality loss (like re-editing JPEG images). MP3DirectCut avoids this, but it still means- 1) Recognising you have a rogue track (MediaMonkey could help here, say by det...

Extra ripping+organising controls

I would like to have- 1) "<encoding type>" tag for auto-organise. I organise my library structure as- \\server\music\<type>\<album artist>\<album>\<track#:2> - <title> MM doesn't have a <type> tag (i.e for FLAC/MP3 etc.) so I have to keep changing this by hand for different file formats. I' d like a...

Minor UI Tweaks

Couple of small User Interface tweaks that would be a help- An "Encoding Type" column option (CBR/VBR/ABR). Bizarrely this seems to be missing currently. Multi column sort. I.e. I want to be able to click once to clear the sort on all columns, then if I click (say) the Artist, Type, and Title headin...

Re: Toolbar support like in Firefox

Customising toolbars is great IF you can export the customisation to a file, save it, and reload it. I have 5 computers and 5 users in my family, and rebuilding toolbar customisations for each user in some apps gets REALLY tedious when a machine OS needs to be reinstalled. I just want to get things ...

Re: Greyed out tracks on network drive

Beware of Adobe Reader 9 I realised that my problem with MediaMonkey coincided with some other system problems. These were linked to an error code of 0x8007007e " The specified module could not be found ". This broke a bunch of stuff, including my Cherry keyboard driver and I couldn't install updat...

Greyed out tracks on network drive

I have a variant of the the dreaded "all tracks greyed out" problem. Background All my music is stored on a network drive mounted from a NAS device. It is accessed in MediaMonkey via the UNC path (\\servername\music). A few weeks ago one of the drives in the NAS box failed. I installed a new one and...

What type of files you try to tag? Can you please wrote your LAN Specs and NAS Model so that we can investigate. I Just Tested to Sync tags on My Computer From Network one and it takes only few seconds per file on 100Mbit Network. I see similar performance issues even when I try to tag a file from ...

Select properties of the track with the correct album art. Click on the tab for album art. Down the bottom there is a box to check to apply to all tracks on the album. If this is what you mean, it should do the trick. Jim I tried that and had no luck. I'm not sure exactly what MM uses to determine ...

I don't have such severe performance problems (wired network to a Synology NAS running Samba), but I do get disk errors when moving or auto-organising files.

Again, if we can kick off an investigation i'd be happy to help with debugging logs etc.

Tried this and it worked very nicely, with one oddity. I set the Virtual CD format to compact the tracks to a lower bitrate to save disc space, for listening on dodgy laptop earpieces, expecting to transcode from 256k VBR MP3 down to 160. However the tracks came over in their original format, includ...

Moving Album Art between tracks

Simple questions- Dragging a track onto any tag in the tree view (e.g. Artist) applies the tag value to the track. EXCEPT this does not work with the Album Art display(?why?). Equally, dragging a JPG from the filesystem onto the Album Art window adds the image to the Album Art tag in the selected tr...

Magicnodes and Virtual CDs

Apologies if this has been asked before, but with 44 pages in this thread it's getting hard to find things! I just discovered MN and it's great. Like everyone else, my first magic node was an (Album Artist) tree. The second was an "Encoding" tree. Questions: 1) Can MN add an (Album Artist) tree for ...

Re: Synching to a Laptop folder, from the laptop!

Somewhere in the forums I saw a thread about synching to a folder (not an external device), but I can't find it again. ... However when I try to set up a "portable device" using the generic mass storage profile, selecting a local disk as the target causes a "no device found" error. I managed to klu...
