Re: Sansa Skin [1.1]

An excellent skin from one of the Monkey's Skin Meisters. Bright, colourful and easy to use. I have but one reservation. I don't like the rounded edges at the top. Function=form=style in that order.

Very Good

Re: Music Collection on DVDs

Hello, You can auto-tag them when you have them in the drive. When you go to: Add-re-scan tracks you can sometimes go to Tools-Auto Tag from the web. Depending how old or ancient they are this will auto tag them for you. Some very old c.d.'s have a long run in time which sends Monkey into a bit of a...

Re: Main competitors

Being slightly oblique ( I can you know! :D ) the other downside to J River software is doing a search on your hard drive. Type in River and you get a zillion files containing the term river such as driver. Ditto the registry. Oh....such a painful task. Now if you type in Monkey the search pain is o...

Re: Music Collection on DVDs

I use Monkey for keeping a libray of all my c.d.'s First scan then make sure you go to File - Add Rescan. Make sure all the tracks are selected by pressing Ctrl-A before Add Rescan or it forgets. To change the information just select one or more tracks and press Shift-Enter. You can then change what...

Dypsis. If you like all singing and dancing then River Media Center is the one. Media Jukebox - free - is better for the purists. There's just too much going on with Media Center 13. 3D album covers which don't really work - another spin off from itoons. Links to various web sites such as Wiki,Googl...

Re: what songs give you the chills?

Chills as in tingling down the spine and hairs standing up on the neck.

Judy Collins with the acapella version of Amazing Grace

or

Rebekah Del Rio singing Orbison's Crying (Llorando) from the David Lynch film Mulholland Drive.

MP3 Or Not To 3 - That Is The Question

Some say that MP3 is ancient. Others disagree. APE and FLAC have their followers. Likewise WMA and whatever else there is.

What do you recommend that is high on quality and low on size? And what bitrate as standard both maximum and minimum.

Cheers

Re: Help| how to disable MM's splash screen

You are a GENIUS! Thank you for the time and effort. It works perfectly now. Have a cup of cowboy tea on me - with a little whisky! Many Thanks By the by. I put in an extra space at first and got a Monkey sign saying: "Splash - Service Name Not Resolved Warning Will Disappear in 7 Seconds" If the pr...

Foobar - a joke in the world of binary. Download the latest version and try and get a skin or plug in. Download a skin from Deviant Art and try to get all the bits to assemble it. And so it goes on. Maybe if somebody could join all the bits together it would be a useful player. Geeks only need apply...

Re: Copy and Paste Album Art

Benn. I use Opera. Wouldn't have anything else and it's so fast and is a perfect match for Monkey! Good Luck.

I keep all my artwork on the desktop and name it by artist-album Then If I need to re-load I just type in the first few letters when I press the Add button and it's done.

Re: Copy and Paste Album Art

Have you tried: Select all tracks of album. Shift Enter Then click Album Art. Make sure there is no blank field already there. Sometimes you get three! If there is a blank box it will stop it from showing. Copy Paste then Click Okay. If it works for me with CD's that are not on the hard drive it sho...

Re: Help| how to disable MM's splash screen

Just double checked and here's what it say on the shortcut properties.

"C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey-31\MediaMonkey.exe /NoSplash"

And I still get the error message although with out the splash extra it works fine and dandy.

Thanks Lowlander. I am truly puzzled.
