Ok, the XSPF feature just moved up a couple of notches on my personal wishlist after discovering the site musicmobs.com. There users can create and download XSPF playlists. Musicmobs developed an itunes plugin called Mobster. Mobster can match the tracks on such a playlist with songs you got i...

The original CDDB (now Gracenote CDDB) is free for non-commercial software developments only. For others they charge a fee. The freeDB seems to quickly loose relevancy after Magix bought it. It's missing lots of recent releases already. In my opinion, musicbrainz will become the leading Music DB soo...

Ah ok, thanks. Now I could replicate the behaviour you criticize. Never had used the property dialog from the left pane nor dragged songs from one node to another album node. I usually edited album data by selcting all songs and opening the properties. This worked very well. But I agree with you tha...

@dsavereide I really don't understand what you are complaining about. MM's artist/album artist editing is very well designed. As long as artist and album artist are the same (which is the case for the majority of tracks), then any changes to the artist are applied to the album artist as well. This i...

MM already let's you mass-rate an album.

Just select all the tracks you want to rate. Then either open the properties window and rate there. Or right-click on one of the selcted songs and give your rating. The rating will be apllied to all songs selected.

Right now, you could use the great MonkeyRok script ( http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14494 ). It doesn't automatically build playlists, but there is an option to display a list of similar artists from last.fm. You can click on the artist name and all the artist's songs in your DB a...

Hi trixmoto, a while ago I reported a bug where the average star rating an album was too high in the "albums featuring" section while it was correct in "current album" section. I found the reason now. The SQL query is different for "current album" and "albums featuring". In the first case the Avg (S...

@RedX That Error message probably means that the MS Common Controls library isn't installed properly on your computer or that it isn't up to date. I think people reported similar errors with Steegy's Library Panes script. @trixmoto I tried your variation, but unfortunately it didn't make any differe...

[Help needed] ActiveX TreeView Control

Hello scripters, has anyone of you ever used a TreeView ActiveX object in a MM script? I'ven been trying to display a hierarchical tree on a simple form. The problem however is that the items don't show up as nested nodes as intended. All I got was a flat list. Is it possible at all to use such an o...

I'm not sure if it's the same problem that m_bojangles reported: For some albums in the "albums featuring" section I receive an average rating that is way to high. When the same album is displayed as the current album however, the average rating is correct. So it's probably not the locale causing it.

I really don't remember what made me quit it but what i believe was that after u got the data from Allmusic u couldn't preview properly and afterwards there was no way to edit the data or change the order of tracks. It also didn't see if names matched the song title if they where out of order. Thos...

Besides the the scripting funtions I only know about the short list with commands for the Web Sources Framework: http://www.mp3tag.de/en/help/main_online.html I'm about to finish a web source script for rateyourmusic.com. Unfortunately unlike discogs their artist index URLs are case-sensitive. E.g. ...

Hello Steegy, I'm looking for a way to convert the search string that WST gets from MM to lower case. With mp3tag this can be achieved by putting [SearchBy]=$lower(%artist%) into the source file. But WST does not recognize this and leaves the search field empty. Can such a case conversion done in WS...

The implementation of multivalues fields works like this: Lets take artist as an example. The Artist(s) of a song are stored in the Songs table in the field Artist. If there are multiple artists they are separated with semicolons. (That's how you enter multiple artists to a song.) Is there any word...
