Re: Album Tag Problem
You could try: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=42085&hilit=database+sync to copy corrupt db to new db and see if it works. Thanks. I actually paid for the deluxe version, but it keeps erroring, even if I only try to import the playlists, so I suspect that the database corrupti...

Re: Album Tag Problem
Thanks. That got me part of the way there. Now it's simply leaving the Album field blank.

Re: Synchronize Tags Fails On AAC
AAC files purchased from or ripped with iTunes are m4a, unless they're the old DRM-protected ones, which ar m4p.

Album Tag Problem
My DB got corrupted and I did not have a recent backup due to an error on my part. So I started a new DB from scratch. When I add/rescan my 240,000 tracks, MM changes the album names to the track number for each track, thus turning a 10-track album into 10 albums named T001-T010. It does these for j...

Database Problems
Been having a lot of discouraging problems with MM4 (latest version) the past many months. Randomly corrupting AAC and ALAC files, and enough other annoyances that I am considering abandoning it. I have 240K tracks on a 4TB external SSD. Running portable from that drive. Just started getting this er...

Re: MediaMonkey com elevator annoyance
...now I am wondering what I did. This must have been a setting in Windows 10 because now I don't see such a setting in MediaMonkey 4. Yep, there is a user account control setting that you can use to set the level of risk you are allowing to pass without a notification. Turning it down may well eli...

Re: Do you use Media Monkey? Why?
Bandcamp charges exactly the same for FLAC as for MP3. Not much there that really interests me, to be honest. I tend to be a little more mainstream in my purchasing tastes and stream the stuff from artists that I've never heard of. Also, I buy a fair amount of classical music, and they definitely c...

Re: Do you use Media Monkey? Why?
The future of digital audio is not in lossy formats like MP3. Among audiophiles, yes. Not so sure about the other 95+% of people. So long as lossless formats are sold at a much higher price that $1.29 per track, which is usually the case, the majority will not buy them. They have come to accept MP3...

Re: Do you use Media Monkey? Why?
I switched to it because iTunes chokes on large libraries. I have 250,000 tracks. I've been collecting CDs for 35 years.

Re: Do you use Media Monkey? Why?
I assume you are referring to Google Play, because MediaMonkey certainly supports and plays FLAC. I have quite a few of them, to I mostly ripped to ALAC for compatibility with Apple devices.

Re: MM unable to recognize running itunes
It appears that if you download the Windows Store version, it is not seen in the control panel, but has to be deleted from the Settings window. It's the "tablet" version, and MM does not seem to recognize it. Apple has hidden the download of the desktop version a few clicks further into their websit...

[SOLVED] MM unable to recognize running itunes
Recently reinstalled iTunes to fix an iTunes Store glitch, which Apple now forces you to do from the Windows Store. Running latest version of MM4. Now it is unable to recognize that iTunes is install and running on my computer. When I plug mu iPhone in to sync with MM, pop-up says "An iPhone/iPod/iP...

Re: Auto-organize and copying files question
Sounds like it'll work, then: copies of my files to a new location, my library stays the same. Thanks! Actually, that may not quite be the case. I'm not sure, but your MM database might think that the tracks you used Auto-Organize to copy to a drive that you will be giving to a friend are now found...

Re: Can't add files at all(!)
In many years of using MM, I've never once had File>add/rescan files to the library fail to add those files to my library. Then I use Auto-Organize Files to put the folders containing those tracks where I want them. Works every time.
