Is There a Way to Auto-Update One Field From Another?

I need a way to auto-update one field to another field, Specifically these four: Custom Field #1 -> Tempo Custom Field #2 -> Mood Custom Field #3 -> Occasion Rating -> Quality Why? Because I cannot display "Tempo", "Mood", "Occasion", and "Quality in MM, so I use the Custom Fields so I can display c...

i find tags truncated tend to be the id3 v2 tag mangled or unreadable somehow (some other app I guess) and mm reads the id3 v1 tags. That is one reason why i always remove id3 v1 tags, i would rather have no tags than truncated ones. Other than this, is there any reason to not use v1 tags? I've alw...

Not all software can read the "Disc # of #" field(s) so I keep a simple system that can be used generically. I separate each CD (or LP) of a multi-disc set into folders and then add "CD##" to the folder name and the album title, and number the tracks as they are on that CD/LP. So, Nat King Cole - St...

Do you have any other software that might have made or that you used to make changes? Mixmeister BPM is the only other program I use on my mp3s, but I ran it on thousands nad thousands of tracks and didn't notice it doing any harm. Do you allow MediaMonkey to automatically save changes to the track...

Strange "Cover (front)" in Artwork Tag

Sometimes I come across artwork named "cover(front)" that is actually an image of the background of the "Album Art" window in Media Monkey. I can't save it, Show Image, or anything, but it's there. The only thing I can do is delete it and paste back in the real artwork. Does anyone know why this hap...

Odd Behaviour: Truncated Album Name, Missing Genre in tags

I'm going back over a large collection that has already been 'processed' by Media Monkey. Now I find I have a lot of missing or truncated info. Album Names are often truncated for one or a few tracks (so they come up as missing tracks). Often the Genre is also missing. When i select and choose "Prop...

Web Search Panels: Annoying Pop-ups

Is anyone else using Web Search Panels getting pop-ups and associated script errors? They seem to be generated by allmusic and mega-search. For safety I removed these and some others. I'd like to put them back in but wondered if anyone had figured out how to get rid of the pop-ups.

Re: Separating sets of music?

Or you can have one Windows account, and create two databases in MM and use the "SelectLibrary" script to control which to run. This is precisely what I was looking for when I wandered in here. . . the questions are, however, HOW does one create two databases in MM in the same account, and where wo...

What Are "Web Search Panels"

I keep reading references to "Web Search Panels" and I've searched the forum postings, but everything I find refers to them, has scripts for them, but I can't find anything that tells me what they are, what they do, why they're useful, and whether it's good or bad to install all of them. Help.!!!!! ...

If it helps (I really had a hard time reading through all the rabbit trails)... I have an external drive with almost 3000 folders on the Root. The Win98 Root files+folders limit was a feature of the FAT and the OS. Nothing in FAT32, NTFS, or XP suggests any such limit would exist. If you decide to c...

Re: Separating sets of music?

I have a mass of music stored in the monkey's database, a lot of which is my daughter's - is there any way to split these out so that my list of artists isn't polluted by a load of pre-teen pap? The easiest and wisest way to deal with this would be to create two Windows users accounts, one for you ...

there is a really easy to move all those files/folders with auto organize.. \new folder name\<path> The above will move the entire existing folder/file path to the 'new folder name' with all existing file/folders intact. This is what I should have done (no way was I going to drag/drop 2400 folders ...

A System Restore cannot put the files back in those folders. It's not possible. I can recreate the folders as empty folders by simply going to the DOS/CMD level and using XCOPY /T /E (duplicates the tree but not the files). I already did that and told MM to Add/Rescan those empty folders. It still s...

Help: Serious Problem With Folders I Moved

I had 2000+ folders on the root of a drive I had added to MM. I decided to make my life easier by putting them in folders as sub-folders. Instead of dragging and dropping them one at a time, I exited MM and dragged/dropped them in Explorer (because I can do multiple folders). Then I rescanned the fo...
