I am assuming that the computer you had everything correctly loaded is the same computer you are now having problems with? Does your database show anything when you open MediaMonkey? In other words is the original database that had everything working there? If the computer is tight on memory, is it ...

EQ101, you were right on all your observations. At this point, very few programs can read any of the tags, replay gain (ID3 Tags) or MM (Ape Tags). Winamp can read the replay gain tags and use them and MM can read its Ape Tags and use them. I assume with MM3 having Replay Gain support (and album lev...

I'm not sure what is happening exactly, but I am guessing that you have some setting for the files to infer their tag properties. When they all have the same album name, MM is inferring that the files have the same album cover. I had a similar problem once that frustrated me forever with MM (enough ...

I think you really need to look at the preferences for your ipod... Make sure you have the ipod device driver (or the usb one if you have your ipod in USB mode) selected. MM comes with drivers for a few possible MP3 players, so setting up the wrong one (I think the windows play for sure is first in ...

At the very least, you should be able to manual sync files. It may not be drag and drop, but it should work... If it isn't, it is because MM is not configured correctly for your IPod. You should also note that the file names on an IPod are always some random form of what the original file is. ITunes...

I generally find (having many of these CD singles myself) that in those cases, I label the album title something slightly different that is usually consistent with how AllMusic or Amazon title them... i.e. sometimes they are identified as CD Single 1, CD Single 2. I do like the multi-disc method tha...

I don't have an IPod, but you can set up manual sync in the free version. Go into the MM preferences dialog and scroll down to the Portable Device settings... you might be able to access it when you have the IPod plugged in using the sync tool button on the toolbar. You will want to select the devic...

I don't like the idea myself, but some taggers do give you the option of formatting your tracks that way. I know that EAC has a setting for ripping tracks and putting the 01/16, 02/16, etc. for the track number. I hated that. As for auto-tagging that does get a little tricky especially when it comes...

Thank you, I looked everywhere but at the bottom of the help page. This has been a challenge, but it is worth it because this program is awesome, and I haven't even fully gotten into it yet.

Re: converting CD to MP3

I downloaded MediaMonkey a couple of days ago and tried to convert come CDs, older ones, 1989 and 1990 to MP3. I get an error message that the MP3 creation is unsuccessful. I'm not sure what the problem is since I can do it with Cakewake 5 so the CD reader is working. Any suggestions? Can you liste...

That makes sense. I thought it was just looking at the audio data and file size alone. You know, if the tags are similar enough for you (but perhaps not MediaMonkey), you can often just find similar files by sorting on the similar tags (or even filenames). This isn't perfect, but duplicate song tit...

Well, I don't have MM in front of me, but what you are looking for I don't think will be too difficult, and each node you are proposing will essentially be the same with probably one different piece (number of plays). I know that the basic node (not taking play count into account) will be something ...

I would think you could do better... I am not that familiar with MM and its tagging features. It seems that by reading from Amazon it should automatically read in the track numbers. If the file names have the correct number, you could read the number directly from that as well. As I mentioned I used...

I understand what you are getting at with regard to one file for one album... However, the point of the asx file is that it is a place holder / link for/to an mp3, flac, ogg, etc.. file which would be much larger right? So the advantage in MM would be that the ASX file would provide the tags and ref...
