I'm not sure if you can do it in Media Monkey. I just tried for the heck of it on a couple of random files, and I couldn't get it to work, but I am work with a collection of wma's (not my home mp3's). Anyway, I organize and tag my files in a similar manner (with leading zeroes). I usually use MP3Tag...

Well... CDA is not really a file format. It is the audio track from a CD. The only way you are going to get from the Audio CD to an MP3 is to rip the audio CD...

Put the Audio CD in your CD drive, Go to the tools menu, and choose Rip Audio CD. That will give you what you want.

I originally noticed the other night when I was listening to some songs that I just downloaded. It was part of an album in which I had some of the songs already. The songs I had were a higher bitrate (320 kbps) and the new songs were a lower bitrate (192 kbps). However, I noticed right away that th...

Re: Slow Burning

If I have my tracks in a play list, can I simply copy these tracks in a folder so that I can use Nero to burn the CD? Thanks. You might want to export the playlist to a m3u file (to a location you can easily find it). And then use the playlist in Nero. Nero can then create the CD from the playlist....

There's really no such thing as a "correct" order.

If you need them in a specific order, you need to create a playlist with that order and burn it to the disc. Then you can use the playlist to play the disc.

You should be able to use MM for tagging any file, but if that isn't completely working a couple of programs that work nicely include: MP3Tag ... This program can tag multiple header types (for mp3, flac, etc) ID3-TagIt ... This has a nice interface and a lot of features I generally use the first pr...

If there is no relationship between bitrate and decibels, then how is it that I have found that higher bitrate songs are louder then lower bitrate songs? I guess my real question should be what determines the decibel level for a given mp3? Thanks. CC First of all, what are you considering higher vs...

Re: MM 3.0 - Track # Alphanumeric - Question & Request O

Opinion? Approximatly half of my tracks are now numbered 01, 02, 03 versus 1, 2, 3. I intend to change one or the other so that they are numbered consistently. Does anyone have an opinion as to why one of these numberingg conventions may be better/worse than the other? I will likely use 1, 2, 3, if...

The only possible correlation, and I am betting it wouldn't really correlate is if there are high frequency peaks that essentially get lopped off by lowering the bit-rate. However, assuming that most of what you want to hear is at frequencies below the compression rate, I don't think there would be ...

Thanks, I am one step forward. I have connected via a cable instead of wireless, and can both play and convert tracks. However, MM has not imported artist or album information. Obviously I can do this by hand, but I assume there must be a better way? I have a feeling your problem is going to be tha...

I use MM for managing and editing my collection - and I use it a lot. Twonky is NOT a manager/editor, it's a streaming software (media server). And yes - it "only" scans and streams my collection because that's the purpose of a media server, nothing else. Without MM I couldn't stream (via Twonky) t...

Erhhh... my music is stored on a NAS. I stream from the NAS to the clients around my appartment by the means of Twonky (see below). Both clients (UPnP like Twonky) are controlled with a remote. Only when I get new music or edit what I already got I use MM and let Twonky rescan. The rest of the time...

Well, that's my point. Maybe it didn't come across. Use MM for managing/organizing and Twonky for streaming. This has been my setup for a year and a half and it works perfectly. Kos The problem with streaming is that in order to control what is playing, you have to physically interact with the comp...

I think the most appropriate would be to have the sync button turn in to the 'stop' button... meaning, click it to start a sync process, click it again to abort the process. The icon could be a stop sign or red stop hand icon, or whatever to make it obvious that clicking it would stop the sync. I a...

Oops. I found a way to do a quick change by using the views but now I wonder about a possible problem. In my old setup if the Custom 1 tag "contained" "rich" (my name) then it showed up in my autoplaylist. Now I have the following: 1 = My song 2 = My wife's song 3 = Song we both like 4 = Song not c...
