Re: Media Monkey 4 sync with iPod Classic

This is a necessary option to have (to be able to check or uncheck "Force iTunes Style Folders") when you have an iPod Classic. If you have Rockbox installed and do not want to use the stock iPod firmware, this checkbox is needed. I just synced my Classic three days ago using version 4.1.8.1751 (po...

Re: Song Information Panel v2.0 (2009-09-19) [MM3]

For my edification, Why do you use four panels instead of one? Doesn't that take up more space? Thanks. It has to do with the fact that I don't like scroll bars, use both SIP and LCV (Lyrics and Comments Viewer) and these particular panels don't show info horizontally very well. 1. I use one SIP pa...

Re: Plugin to find which playlists contain a track?

I've made some progress but still unable to configure the panel. I'm continuing this on the main thread for the Song Information Panel in case anyone else finds the same problems... http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=41882&start=120 Tools>Options>Player>Song Information Panel. Tools > Options > Player > Songs Infor.... > New, " Edit ", Delete buttons. :wink: Several panels are possible with the new button. I use 4 of them, configured to show unique things (overkill, I know 8)) . For my edification, Why do you use four panels instead of one? Doesn't that take up more spac...

Re: Ripping of compilation/mix disc's a scrambled mess

MMFrLife has it correct. I have over 100 compilation albums and that is my process. Seems like a lot of work, but in the end it is worth it.

Re: Can I delete Temp files?

Lowlander wrote:1) You can move the Temp folder (Tools > Options > General) so that any backups don't include it.
2) You can remove the MMCache******_* folders, but they'll be recreated each time you view Artwork in MediaMonkey. They're used for a faster display of Artwork.

thank you

But they will regenerate whenever you play files with artwork again.
Interesting, thank you. At least I can delete them before I backup MM to another drive and save some space.

Can I delete Temp files?

This is a dumb question...I just found 1000s of images (bitmaps and jpegs) in the Temp folder of my Portable MM install. They are album covers that are already embedded in tracks. Can I delete these?

Re: Vision Skin v 2.0.0.0 (07.01.2012)

My understanding is the mmip is an installation package and you can't edit anything in there. My process, after installing a skin, is to change the extension of the .msz to .zip. Then, open the zip with something like 7zip or winzip. Inside are a bunch of files. Find the player .ini, open in Notepad...

Find the player .ini file and open it. Look for this and make DockLock=0

[PlayerSkin]
EngineVersion=100
Resizable=1,0,1,0
Pos=0,0
Size=774,93
Transperent=0
TimeFormat=mmm:ss
DockAtMostBottom=0
DockLock=0

Re: What's the easiest way to stop individual tracks syncing

Well, I have come up with my own workaround for this. I simply use a metadata field that I don't personally care about ("Genre") as switch for this. Basically every track in my entire library has it's Genre set to something, but I leave the Genre field blank on the duplicate tracks. Then, in the Li...

Re: How do I change file locations and properties?

My music is disorganized. I have problems where songs (within my windows folders) are listed under unknown artist or unknown album. Thus, my music on my phone remains unorganized. This is also the cause of out of order albums for me (it plays Beatles - Revolver first, then Beatles - Unknown Album, ...

Re: SD Card Sync has problems

I'd start with updating MMW. If MP3 isn't supported you may be using the free version of MediaMonkey (see Help > About). You'll need to add PLA to Supported Formats before you can select it as Playlist format. I'll update only because you suggest it. ;) I'm not on free version, I have a lifetime li...

SD Card Sync has problems

I'm syncing to an SD card, one that I've synced to before and I've synced many others. When I try to sync now, if I don't check the boxes for auto-conversion, I get an error message saying the mp3 files are not supported. This is pretty strange. Also, MM won't let me add .pla as a playlist format. I...
