currently, the only way to change the colour of the dropdown menu headers (eg. "File") is with "ToolItemTextNormal" (in FONTS). however... when the dropdown rolls out, the text within it also follows the same colour. I would like these two colours to be split up so that, for example, the header ...

Have you tried to run MM with admin rights (right-click on MM icon and select "Run with administration rights") ? UAC you have enabled or disabled ?

Yeah. MM3 works fine in Vista, but you need to grant admin rights to MM.
