Re: Need relative paths, or path setting options, in playlis

So, now that I've explicated the problem in great detail, does anyone know how to fix it?

If not, how do I move this from the help forum to the feature request forum? The last time I tried it got locked for duplicate posting. -_-

Re: Need relative paths, or path setting options, in playlis

I'm just not following you. When you said the tracks were in "/sdcard/Music/alt/", I assumed then that you needed the /sdcard/, though now you say you don't need it. So what's the issue then? From the point of view of software running on the phone, the tracks are in /sdcard/Music/... When...

nohitter151 wrote:So why not just change "Sync tracks to:" to \sdcard\<Path:2> ?
Because /sdcard doesn't show up on the USB drive connection; the path it actually needs to sync to is E:\Music\alt...; no sdcard component.

(tried that already :)

Re: Need relative paths, or path setting options, in playlis

I don't understand. The paths you've posted (eg. "\Music\alt\Blink_182--Adams_Song.mp3") are relative, not absolute. No, they start with \; relative would be "Music\alt\...". That wouldn't work either; it would need to be "..\Music\alt\...". Bear in mind that this is a...

Need relative paths, or path setting options, in playlists

I'm trying to get things working with my Android device, but it's generating playlists like this: #EXTM3U #EXTINF:249,Blink 182 - Adam's Song \Music\alt\Blink_182--Adams_Song.mp3 This doesn't work because it's absolute, and while the path on the USB drive when hooked to the computer is E:\Music\alt\...

Dropbox support (note: not like clouddrive!)

I, and others, would very much like to put our music and MM.DB on dropbox, because unlike clouddrive and unlike what I know of MM4's streaming service, it synchronizes the files between machines so that I have all my music even if I'm completely offline, far away from civilization, with my laptop. T...

Re: A new twist on the drive letter issue.

This doesn't mean that the current implementation doesn't have its share of problems, but suggested solutions to this problem have been discussed at length on the forum and so far the developers haven't shown interest in addressing this. Heh. I was starting to think you were one of the devs; I gues...

Re: A new twist on the drive letter issue.

You would need to change the dropbox drive serial Oh, sorry, I didn't explain dropbox. That's not how dropbox works at all. It synchronizes automatically with a directory on your normal OS drive. (I then use "mklink /j" to make it appear as though various directories around the system are...

Re: A new twist on the drive letter issue.

Portable drives is the reason. They can change drive letters depending on order connected and using driveID avoids this problem. You seem to be confusing "labels" and "serial numbers" when you say "driveID". The label is the string that shows up next to the drive lette...

Re: A new twist on the drive letter issue.

A friend suggests that respecting drive *labels* instead of either serial numbers or drive letters would solve this problem. Is there a reason mediamonkey doesn't do that?

A new twist on the drive letter issue.

I'm moving to mediamonkey f'reals; purchased and everything (this may be obvious from my many posts :D). I have two computers I use regularily, and I didn't want to deal with manually updating, so I stuck all my music in DropBox. (I bet you can see where this is going) I also stuck the *database* in...

Re: More Advanced Search/Autoplaylist Criteria

Also create one Playlist with: ((Rating = Unknown) or (Rating >= 1.5 Stars)) and Second Playlist: "Playlist one" and Length (seconds) > 45s Yeah, that's actually the method I'm going with now; took me a while to find a post that suggested it. :) "Playlist is not" is *especially*...

Re: Search troubles with Occasion and NOT

I think you're entering it wrong, it should be: rating:3.. Occasion:-Special http://www.mediamonkey.com/sw/webhelp/frame/index.html?search.htm Nope; that gives me an SQL error that includes "WHERE SongsText MATCH 'occasion: -special*'", which is very much the wrong thing. And yes, that's ...

Re: Search troubles with Occasion and NOT

I still say that's a bug, but in case other people end up searching for this, here's the solutions I've found: - Make a playlist with "Occasion:Special". Make another playlist with "rating >= 3" and "playlist is not [the other playlist]". This solves pretty much anythin...
