how to avoid internet explorer!? when going online via MM?

how to avoid internet explorer!? when going online via MM?

here is my little gripe,
when i tag a mp3 file in MM, through amazon.com with MM, and i wish to find out more about what amazon says about this spesific album,
so i double click in MM to be passed on, now MM opens internet explorer to show me the info...

now i personally hate to use IE - so i wonder..

is it possible to make MM trigger Opera or Firefox instead?

If MediaMonkey opens a browser window it should open the default browser. This has been requested before.

hmmm then there must be a bug because opera is my default browser..

but MM loves IE and that bugs me - cause MM needs to divorce IE..

Edit: a practical reason for me needing opera, is that i am working
on a 30" screen (2560 x 1600) thus print becomes way too small on IE,
because i can set a 250% enlargement as default on opera,

so hopefully MM will soon allow me to choose my default, and not be dependent on the programmers of MM's who is forcing me to use IE

Same here...

Same problem here-- FireFox is the only browser I use, and is set to the default, but MM still opens IE. Is there a particular extension or association that needs to be changed?

I actually meant should in that it should do it, but it doesn't (at least the last time I checked).

:-) right, it doesn't. I don't use IE at all and it's not my default browser, but it pops up with all scripts and web browsing within MM. Perhaps this is being directed from with-in the script?

Within MediaMonkey is fine as that's the browser component MediaMonkey uses. But if ir opens a browser window it should open the default browser.

i agree with you Lowlander - within MediaMonkey it is ok right now - i can deal with that easily :) and i also wish that when MM opens a browser window it should open the default browser - which it aperently does not! as MM keep preferring IE regardless of what the default browser is..

I think that this is a bug - that needs to be taken care of in future releases

That just isn't possible. MediaMonkey is using an embedded internet explorer. It's like saying when you have IE open how can you make it open your "default browser" when you click a link in IE. You can't. It is IE!

Not sure what you mean. Anyway, it would be possible only if MM implemented their own browser.

This has also been a problem for me as well. I though it just me but after reading thread I realized it wasn't just my computer. I even uninstalled just to see what happens if it was on my computer. I think MM does prefer to use IE over other browser since it is the most recognized browser in the world.

No, they use it because it's the easiest way. Everyone has IE on their PC already (since MM is Windows only) so it just uses embedded IE, which is much easier than developing their own internal browser.

The one option you have is to copy the link you are interested in and then paste it into the browser of your choice.
