I started a while back ripping 20+ years of CD collecting into APE, and now that I'm getting ready to buy an ipod I'm wondering if that was the wisest decision. I know there are other portable players out there that will support ape, but I'm not really interested in going that route. That said, I have thousands of ape files and am wondering what the easiest way to convert them all to FLAC is? The other side of this is that I'd prefer not to completely reimport them into MM 2.5 that I'm using; is it possible to convert them outside MM and just change the extension in the database from .ape to .FLAC? Or will they all have to be removed and reimported?
