CD Refreshing Issues

Post by Geor! » Tue Jul 20, 2010 4:55 pm

So after some trouble with my media hard drive, I'm having to go in and re-rip all of my CDs. I'm using MediaMonkey to rip them as "Virtual CDs," after having issues with iTunes. While MM is ripping the CDs just fine, about 60-75% of the time, when I eject the disc and put in another, MM does not refresh with the information. The only way, maybe I should say the *quickest* way, I can fix this is to close and reopen MM. With ~2000 to rip, this is getting extremely annoying.

Any suggestions? I've tried looking through the settings and nothing is standing out.

Thank you!

Hi,

I faced the same problem, but couldn't find any other solution than yours. I switched to using dBpoweramp (primarily for AccurateRip), so had no need to pursue it.

Q6600 2.4Ghz & IIRC on my p3400 - both with 4Gb RAM. I ordinarily have Auto Insert Notifications turned off as MM (seemingly) polls the drive(s)* - as it works for so long I don't see the need/difference. Despite numerous attempts to find the cause I gave up - it just stopped refreshing after a good few CDs.

* Not directly related but the polling seems to interrupt dBpa when ripping under Windows 7. This is probably due to not having an ASPI driver (not supported under Windows 7) installed? - the default can only do one thing at a time. Being able to disable polling would be a good thing to have.

Probably relevant: I was using JeFCo freedb proxy and I think the requests were being made by MM but not showing in the interface.

Are you sure that you have changed Mm seting to query Jefco instead of FreeDb directly?

I maintain my own local copy of the XMCD files so it had to be. And how would I see the requests if in wasn't set up properly?

I know that under my server name was 127.0.0.1 or localhost when I use it.

EDIT: I can't dl JeFCo anymore using links from http://trixmoto.net/mm/howto.php?id=1

I also have refresh issues, but restarting MM does not even help. As far as I can see (but I am a computer ignoramus) I have query automatically, CDDBP, freedb.
Please help?

Thank you so much! Solution 2 did the trick. I had to restart though, so maybe add that to the instructions? (it took me a bit before I thought of that).
