1 Monkey but two PCs, how to stream music

Post by germanjulian »

Hi,
this is more a general "what are my options" question.

I just got a new PC and made my old one a HTPC. My main PC contains all my music and MM and I want to be able to either stream the music to my HTPC but still control MM via the HTPC somehow or I want to play my music on the HTPC through the network but use playlist maybe which I export manually every now and again, however not sure how the playlist which contains the drive letter would work on my HTPC... I suppose I need to map a network drive but I am not sure if this is possible in Windows 7 Home Premium.

What options do I have, what do you guys do?

PS: and no I am not gonna copy my playlist songs to the HTPC, my music stays on 1 PC :)

Don't map network drive, use UNC path instead (//PCName or //192.168.1.1). Mapped drives can cause issues with MediaMonkey not finding your music. Also see: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... ticleid=49
