Bug or Feature, certain wave files not playing?

I guess it is a feature: I have certain wave files, which are not being played by MM4. Most of them are small (<12KB) system sound files, but there are 3, I created via avidemux and these files do start MM4, once being doubleclicked in windows explorer, and are shown in MM4's list, but it doesn't play them, even when I click on the play button.

Does anybody know how to avoid this behaviour? Is it possible to correct those files, so they will also play in MM4, like in any other player?
