Lost Previews

Post by bonjo »

Hi.
When encountering a database problem (see below *) and after not being able to fix the problem (database maintenance etc. didn't help) I resigned and had MM set up a new database. The error was gone then but unfortunately MM does not reimport all my previews (500+ albums!).
Of course, the preview files are still there on my disk, but MM doens't know about them.
Is there any way to sort of re-import the previews into MM?

Thanks for any help or ideas.

My configuration:
on drive D:
  • - MM 4.1.1.1703 (portable mode) including config-files
    - database
    - all preview files
on drive N:
  • - all other music files (like MP3, WAV etc.)
*) the database problem showed after a recent MM update required and upgrade of the database. After that these and similar errors showed every time I quit MM: http://postimg.org/image/i18frvbcd/, http://postimg.org/image/atjf30g59/ )

I don't think it's possible.

So the only thing I can do is have MM use these preview files like any other media file he puts in his database? :(

I believe so, or recreate them.

Bonjo .. i know this doesn't help you now but check out Backup 5.8 in the addons section. This will backup your db, registry, scripts etc to a directory and even zip it (until you get too large a db). It will not back up your music but that can/should be handled seperately. I have problems pretty often which have not been able to find the reason ... and the backup has really helped out.

Like i said .. no help right now but great for the future
