single file appearing in multiple albums

Post by PDoyle »

Please advise how to save only one mp3 file, yet have it appear and play in multiple albums (e.g. original release Brown Sugar- Sticky Fingers, then Greatest Hits albums Brown Sugar- Forty Licks?) Saw references to this in MM2 but not lately. thanks!
thanks for your help; i'm making progress correcting tag errors, album art. :D

so I would link a track to each album I want it to appear in...then delete all identical copies of same track, except one?
e.g. Brown Sugar is linked to original album plus other greatest hits albums...then I delete all duplicate copies of Brown Sugar, leaving just one BS; and it will play each time I play one of the linked albums. correct? album art won't match but one album, but i can deal with that.

The suggested script is not what you need. You should try Track Redirection & Synchronization script instead.
