Restore settings from backup

Post by kaichandler »

After rebuilding windows, I restored my music files from the backup I'd created on an external drive, and then installed the latest MM Gold, but it looks different and lacks my playlists and podcast subscriptions. What do I need to restore to get back the old 'look and feel', playlists and podcast subscriptions?

thanks!!!

The operating/looking different could be an .ini and .registry file issue. Did you restore those too?

Can you provide steps on what you did to recreate everything?

Playlists are stored in the database (unless you exported them).

I see the .ini file and can try restoring that. Not sure where the database is located, can you clarify please Lowlander?

thanks!!

that was what I needed! I restored the following from backup and am up and running again.

C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\MM.DB
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.ini
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\MetadataCache\

thanks!!

Glad you got it worked out! :)
Just to confirm, the database was in the right place (same place as the .ini), you just didn't realize MM.DB is the database?

yes, they were both in
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey

I'd not known about that folder until you pointed me in the right direction.

thank you!!
