should [multiple] tags entered on mma sync back to mmw?

hi

i tried an experiment where i edited the genre of a track in mma, adding 2 genres to the existing one for the track, separated by semi-colon ;

i also un-checked the 'if multiple genres, only use first one' setting in auto-sync -> library settings

after syncing there was no change to the genre in mmw. (the track had originally been synced from mmw -> mma)

should genre updates from mma -> mmw work?

you need to enable Metadata Sync Device to Library.

Right - I forgot to mention that i had ensured that option was selected as well.

yet when i tested changing my rating, the rating change did sync back.

could it be because the file is an mp3?

could it have something to do with my device having 2 entries, one for the default built in memory and the other for the sd card which is where this track is?

i then tried another test. i added a second genre (separated by ; ) to a flac in mmw and synced. mma does not show the second genre. nor the rating. very confusing.
