Hi. Been reading the forum for a while but haven't gone for the gold yet. Program appears very powerful but don't want to get in over my head with complexity. Is there a step by step install and use manual so I don't destroy my existing iTunes library and playlists?
What I have is a laptop that syncs an older iPod with 1000+ Roadtrip playlist on iTunes. I also have a desktop that I sync an older iPad. Both laptop and desktop have the 10,000+ mp3's on their hard drives but probably in different file structures....getting complicated already!
What I'd like to do:
Use MM on the desktop with Windows 7 to simplify all this and be able to copy the Roadtrip playlist from the iPod to the iPad and maybe to a USB drive and iPhone.
Does that seem do-able without being an expert on all the knowledge base?
Is there a step by step install manual?

Not really, but start here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... tarted/4.0
and read: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... ediamonkey and http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... other-apps
Don't enable before you know what it does. You may prefer Infer File Properties disabled (Tools > Options > Library).

Re: Is there a step by step install manual?
Thanks for the reply @Lowlander the Help section should get me started.
What is it I shouldn’t enable until I know what it does? What are Infer File Properties?
Bottom line... MM should be able to accomplish what I described in my post above?

The main one is Auto-Organize. Infer File Properties will get tags from the folder/filenames and doesn't always get the expected results, it can be accomplished manually using Tools > Auto-Tag from Web (which will show changes prior to applying them).
MediaMonkey can sync with Apple devices: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... zation/4.0
Merging Libraries will be tedious, but there are tools to help: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... ate-tracks
Once you're setup MediaMonkey can organize the files physically on your hard drive (last step): http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... enames/4.0
