Recommend a Player, Must Sync Playcount/Rating (Not iPod)

I need an MP3 player that will actually sync Ratings and Playcount, and was wondering if any current MM users had recommendations?
(Don't care about play day/time now, but it would be nice for advanced playlists in the future)

4-8gb would be preffered.
Small.
Less than $120 would be great, less than $100 even better!

I listen to ALOT of podcasts and as such syncing of playcount is needed.

I do NOT want an iPod, I have had way to many issues with having to rebuild their databases when used with MM. (80gb iPod Classic)
I also don't want a Zune, I am also tired of closed systems.

I am currently using a Sansa Clip and so far it has been good except for the fact that I have to manually manage my Podcasts. It is to time consuming and confusing when you subscribe to 12 podcasts like I do. Trying to remember episode numbers or names that I have listened to is just to difficult, I feel like I need a spreadsheet to keep track of it. UGG!

Thanks in Advance,
Lucas

That's exactly what I'm looking for, too.

I'd love to get the 8GB Sansa Clip, but AFAIK the 8GB units are all version 2 devices which are not supported by SansaMonkey.

No other suggestions or success stories syncing the ratings with a v2 Clip ?

Well it appears no one is really interested in supporting anything other than ipods at this point. All of the non ipod support seems to be attached to old models of sansa products. So I have moved back to my 80gb Ipod classic, I will just have to deal with the database rebuilds.

I'm not sure how accurate this statement is but.... I did not answer because I am only familiar with Creative Zen products, but I do not believe they sync ratings back to MM. I am not sure about this because I do not rate tracks on my Zen(s) and I do not sync or use podcasts. But other than that they work perfectly with MM, at least they do for me.

Do a search of the forum there were a couple of topics regarding recommendations for players and there is some good information in the regarding the pros and cons of other players besides Ipods and Zunes.

I just did a test on my Creative Zen X-Fi and it does sync ratings back to MM. So other than the podcasts, which I have not personally tested, this player would meet your needs and it comes in capacities from 4 gb to 32 gb.

I have a Creative Zen, and the ratings seem to only sporadically sync properly. If you remove the rating on the player, when you sync it will restore the rating that is currently in the MM library. If you increase the rating on the player, it will sync back properly. If you change it in both MM and the player before syncing, the gates of hell will open and spew forth th-

not really, but it just seems to take the higher rating.

Really, in my tests I lowered ratings on the player and the lower ratings were synced to MM. But I didn't try removing any. I'll play around with this some more this weekend. Which Zen do you have, I tested with the Zen X-Fi 32gb. I'll try that one some more along with my Vision M to see if I get the same results.

I have a zen vision m, running beta v 3.1228, and the playcount syncs, but the podcasts that are listened to are not being removed (I checked the obvious settings in podcast options)

I'd like to resuscitate this thread -- anyone here have a player where podcast episodes are removed after they are listened to? Can't get this to happen on eith my zen vision M or my Nokia N95 phone...
