[SOLVED] Can't sync iPod touch
I've got the latest model touch with IoS 103.3 and iTunes 12.6.
None of the instructions I can find match the menus in my iPod and iTunes and I'm failing miserably to get music onto my iPod.
I can drop music into iTunes from my hard disc, but even that I can't seem to copy to my iPod.
Thanks
Doug

Did you read: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... zation/4.0
The key is that iTunes doesn't try to sync when you connect your iPod. Then use MediaMonkey to setup what you want to sync in the Device Profile (should be shown in the Media Tree when device is connected) and start sync.

Re: Can't sync iPod touch
Thanks. It's that page that made me need to come here. What's a "Summary tab of your device"? Ah, you have to click on a symbol which isn't actually near where it says iPod in iTunes. Ok, I've done that. I can't find "Options > Auto-Conversion", but that's not my main problem. My main problem now is that having done all that, it's stuck on copying the first one.

Tools > Options > Portable Device Sync and then the Options tab, Auto conversion sub-section.
Which version of MediaMonkey?

Re: Can't sync iPod touch
I thought I'd replied. Version: 4.1.19.1859
I think I've done it all now, although the menu isn't quite as described. But MM is still stuck copying the first file, although I disconnected my iPod, shut MM, opened MM and reconnected my iPod to see if that helped. No difference.

Try a restart of the PC and iPod.

Re: Can't sync iPod touch
Hi,
You should also try to update to latest Beta as it contains tweaks and fix for iPhone plugin.

Rebooted everything, downloaded the beta, but it's still sticking on the first file.

Hi,
Hmmm, interesting. Can you please open support ticket and supply us with debug log as described at https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... ?f=12&t=69

Have you tried different "first" files?

Re: Can't sync iPod touch
It doesn't seem to matter what is the first file. I'll try to send a debug log, not exactly easy!

Re: Can't sync iPod touch
May not seem like it, but it is:
1) Download & install debug version of MediaMonkey
2) Download & run DBGView
3) Start MediaMonkey
4) Do whatever the problem is
5) Once problem occurs, save DBGView and attach it to a Support Ticket (ZIP it if large)
Steps 1, 3 & 4 are steps you've already done, now just with the debug version of MediaMonkey.

Re: Can't sync iPod touch
Nothing yet from MediaMonkey. When I click on the link I was given to check progress, http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... -657-81456, I get http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... -657-81456 which tells me to login. But there's no way to login, and being logged in here doesn't seem to matter. I've always been very happy with MediaMonkey, but this makes me wonder if I should look elsewhere.

It's a maintenance issue: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =1&t=89703
