There is a sample skin that shows a basic implementation of the plugin. By basic, I mean it shows you a web page and a couple working buttons, but it does not give you any song info. I tried adding a couple more buttons for Next and Previous, but even following the form that was already there, I failed. I could get the buttons to show up, but for whatever reason the script didn't work. :(

Oh, and I still can't get the plugin to work reliably. The old version worked pretty well, but this version keeps giving me the error I posted above. I can get it to work maybe 1 of 10 times. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've tried Firefox, IE8, and IE on my IPaq (PPC 2002 so it's PIE or Pocket Internet Explorer which is probably IE 5 or 6 compatible).

Thank you Peke. I am presently making a demo skin for the plugin will post it soon. Here is a preview of the skin I am making. I am using jquery so hopefully it will save me from writing a lot of JavaScript for the UI.

Sorry for the spelling mistake. I am dyslexic.

If anyone interested in completing the skin please do let me know I will post the source in here.

jitun, please, very nice plugin, but with 2 feature requests from me:
  • simpler PDA-version for Windows Mobile/iPhone/etc. pocket devices, to control music through (current 1-frame mode acceptable, but don't forget in future :)
  • "set song rating stars" ability from webbrowser: it is very useful to mark "to delete" or "to best" for myself to move track in library later or to create compilations
thank you!

Hi, I just installed the mmip file. Now I can see "http://localhost/main" in my browser. I can also see the properties of the file playing when I press "Properties".

However, when I press "next" or "pause" or any of the other buttons "A username and password are being requested by http://localhost. The site says: "Wawi Playback Control" pops up and asks for a username/password.

What is the username/password? I used my windows log on info, but it didn't work.

It looks like I can ask all information (properties/playlists/ect.), but sending information back like play/pause/next gives the username/password popup. :(

Goto tools -> Option

A dialog box will open. In that box under "Player" click on "General plug-ins". Then click on the "Media monkey web interface" on the right side list and then click on the button named "Configure". Now u will see the plug-in's configuration dialog box. Now under the "Users"tab add a user. See the below screenshot.

Can we lose the stupid login popup and go with a in page login, or at least have this as an user alternative option to the pop up. This plugin fails horribly at what I hoped it would of been great at; controlling my music when full screen in a game (so I don't have to alt-tab out of it (source games take so long to come back to once I alt-tab back into it)). The steam overlay browser does not support pop up dialog boxes at all, which is nice, but it also blocks the login dialog box. No login dialog box = no controls = a waste of time (sure I can see what is playing but I don't really care about that). The steam browser is now a webkit browser and does support flash if you have installed on the system. It doesn't support dialog boxes. And flash tends to make the overlay crash so a in window javascript login window might work nicely. It would make my day if you could make this happen.

I've downloaded the mmip file for this plugin, but can't seem to do anything with it. Right-clicking gives me an option to "Install MediaMonkey Package" which I do but I have no confirmation that it has installed.

It doesn't appear under Tools->Options->Player->General Plug-ins nor under Tools->Extensions.

I'm also attempting to install this on a Windows server that already has Microsoft IIS activated is this going to cause a problem?

Cheers,

Roy

MS ISS wont cause a problem with installation but in order to run it just change the port number it seems like the plug-in is not properly installed. Try installing the plug-in manually instead of the mmip. See if that works or not.

Sorry I cant devote much time for this as I am caught up in two jobs. :cry:
