Trix - one more enhancement suggestion ... the various panels you have in MR - could you provide an option to actually make them separate MM panels (ie - not embedded within the single MR panel, but separate ones that could be positioned where ever the user would like?) I'd envision this to be user selectable in MR Options.

@Brock - if you consistently query Last.Fm more than once per second over a few minutes then the do block the IP address. It's possible the script is not working, but I've re-written all the queries to use the new 2.0 webservices so please be patient for the release and hopefully they'll work.

@nynaevelan - your wish is my command, I actually finished adding that yesterday! :) It uses the current filter though, not a selectable one, is that suitable?

@onenonymous - well this won't be in the next version, it's really separate panels completely which doesn't really fit in with the whole way that skinning currently works in MR. It would probably mean lots more skin files for the individual panels which would mean the skinners updating all of their files. I'll put it on my list to consider for the future though.

:D :D Yes that is definately suitable, especially since it was my plan to set it to my main filter. I am floating on air in anticipation.  Thanks.

Fixed, fixing and fixed! :D
s.newave wrote: Feature Request:
-Treat external panels as regular panels like info, albums by, etc. This way you could also sort them by date, title, and rating where applicable. Also right now i have to choose 3 out of the 5 panels and I want/need all 5 :).
-Top Albums panel
-same level of info in "Other albums by ..." as you have in "Albums by ..." panel such as year released, # of tracks and rating from external source if possible
-more control over layout of panels. Really like to have something like wide layout with 2 panel columns. Wide seems to mix and match between 1 & 2 columns.
-tabs? Would be great to organize the script into tabs instead of one/two columns. You could have a tab for each of the diff sections i.e. Info, external, favorites, etc..
-picture of artist in biography panel would also be nice addition
-panel opened/closed indicator on right side of panel title bar. Something like V or ^.
-bigger thumbnails for artist images, albums etc or ability to customize size
1)a) These options work because I can add the options to the sort order - trying to sort the XML data that is returned would be very slow and pretty limited I'd have though, so I'm not planning to do this.
1)b) There are now 6 panels options and possibly another 3 on the way, there's no way 9 panels is a good idea!
2) On my list, possibly for this release, maybe the next.
3) This means doing a second call for each album, as only one call per second is allowed this means if you wanted 10 albums to be displayed it would take a minimum of 11 seconds to show the result - not realistic I'm sure you agree.
4+5) This is a skinning issue, it's HTML+CSS so go nuts - please make any skins you produce public.
6) Done!
7) On my list, possibly for this release, maybe the next.
8.) You can modify "ImgW" and "ImgH" variables at the top of the script if you really want to, but these aren't really settings that I want to put on the options sheet.

Last release I added the 3rd layer of UTF-8, this release it looks like I need to add the 4th (and final)! :)

Having said that, it's actually impossible to add the 4th layer using VBScript as the character codes are out of range (Ref: Microsoft). Luckily your example turns out to be a problem with the 3rd layer, which I think I can fix.

I know I'm stretching "this weekend" beyond it's limits, but I would like to wait overnight to let the translators work their magic. I promise (and I don't do that very often on this forum!) that I'll release the next version tomorrow. Drum roll please...

Greetings

Nice update trixmoto,many usefull things:
borderless and hide panel caption, without hacks ,nice i like .
and shure the automatic Skin switch ,great! :D
one Question for this,do the skin files must have the same name like the MM skin/theme?

And with interest i follow your last posts about tabs in MR,
i search abit in the web, and now i got a MR skin with 4tabs

i found this code for the html file,(and can skin them in the css file)

Code: Select all

   <ul id="simple-navi">
    <li class="active"><a href="#">Info</a></li>
    <li><a href="#">Artist</a></li>
    <li><a href="#">Album</a></li>
    <li><a href="#">comment</a></li>
    </ul>
but i don't know how to link them to any function/panels from MR,
any ideas or tips .

Hi,
This excellent script is getting even better!

What I have found so far:
- Option "Display image from last.FM..." string is displayed in English for foreigh languages.
- Automatic skins: Excellent. Yes, skins names must match exacltly. Some of my skins names don't :( (I will fix it in next releases).
- Remove borders around the panel doesn't work for me... at least with all pre-MM3.1 made skins.

Request:
- Is it possible to have Automatic Skin to not switch skin in case no matching one is found? Actually it switches to the first skin in the list.
- Make the skin name Combobox larger?
- Upcoming panel opened/closed indicator on right side of panel title bars? Cool! Please make it skinnable. :)

Thank you for your fantastic work, Trixmoto.
