Thanks for kind words! It seems to me that you didn't read the Information section from the first post of this thread or same section from my Download page. I already explained that all * Parts * arguments use VBScript code to split content of the field, instead of String * arguments which use SQL queries for that. I cannot use SQL to get all parts of some field if that field is not multi-item native for MediaMonkey. Well, theoretically, maybe I could add such thing for Statistic qualifier (Sort by - no way), but:
- it could be much slower (because for each sub-node it should be executed new SQL query);
- displayed results could be less reliable, especially for Split mode:Categories and its forth mode with Ex Right of and Right until;
- it is too complicated to implement and I have not much interest for this, especially because you are the only one who needed such thing. Sorry.

That's getting closer to what I want, but I would like to reduce to a few genre only... I have a huge library (close to 360.000 titles) with a few hundred genre (I'm lazy to reorganise it...) How could I do this for let's say 10 tracks of rock, 10 tracks of new age, 10 tracks of chanson francaise, 10 track of metal, 10 tracks of reggae, and so on... ?

Just tested this with AutoPlaylist:

Created 3 AP's "Test Blues", "Test Latin", "Test Rock", each AP is set up as:
Genre contains <value>, eg Genre contains blues
Limit 10 tracks
Order Random

Then created AP "_Test":
Playlist equals Test Blues, Test Latin, Test Rock
Order Random

Each refresh of _Test selects typically 30 new tracks. Possible for duplicate song to slightly reduce total number of tracks selected.

Many thanks Owyn, that's exactly what I wanted :) I didn't know you could include auto playlist in an auto playlist, that's a great trick I will remember :)

There are several masks in the Filter Examples folder which demonstrates filtering of displayed tracks by specified genre. Here is one combination with the mentioned mask:

Code: Select all

<Group|Name:Random|Show tracks:No>\10 Random Tracks from each "Blues" and "Rock" Genres|Icon:Top level|Child of:Playlists|Position:Child|Filter:Songs.ID IN (SELECT Songs.ID FROM Songs, (SELECT DISTINCT GenresSongs.IDGenre AS IDGenre FROM GenresSongs) AS G1 WHERE Songs.ID IN (SELECT Songs.ID FROM Songs, GenresSongs WHERE Songs.ID = GenresSongs.IDSong AND GenresSongs.IDGenre = G1.IDGenre ORDER BY Random() LIMIT 10)) AND <Genre> IN ('Blues', 'Rock')
And something more that you cannot do with auto-playlists:

Code: Select all

<Group|Name:Random|Show tracks:No>\10 Random Tracks from each Genre which has 100 or more tracks|Icon:Top level|Child of:Playlists|Position:Child|Filter:Songs.ID IN (SELECT Songs.ID FROM Songs, (SELECT GenresSongs.IDGenre AS IDGenre FROM GenresSongs GROUP BY GenresSongs.IDGenre HAVING Count(*) >= 100) AS G1 WHERE Songs.ID IN (SELECT Songs.ID FROM Songs, GenresSongs WHERE Songs.ID = GenresSongs.IDSong AND GenresSongs.IDGenre = G1.IDGenre ORDER BY Random() LIMIT 10))

Code: Select all

<Group|Name:Random|Show tracks:No>\10 Random Tracks from each Genre which has avg. rating >= 3 stars|Icon:Top level|Child of:Playlists|Position:Child|Filter:Songs.ID IN (SELECT Songs.ID FROM Songs, (SELECT GenresSongs.IDGenre AS IDGenre FROM Songs, GenresSongs WHERE Songs.ID = GenresSongs.IDSong GROUP BY GenresSongs.IDGenre HAVING Avg(Songs.Rating) >= 60) AS G1 WHERE Songs.ID IN (SELECT Songs.ID FROM Songs, GenresSongs WHERE Songs.ID = GenresSongs.IDSong AND GenresSongs.IDGenre = G1.IDGenre ORDER BY Random() LIMIT 10))

Code: Select all

Thanks ,but actually i want it like the example ,which adds up all the tracks to get a total album playing time ; and then be able to filter on total playing time.
I tried this but it doesn't work :
Boeklengte 2|icon:top level|Filter:<Length> > 10800000\<album|statistic:sum(length)|sort order:asc>

Thank you, the first code works like "magic "for me !
i"d like to ask a related question : would it be possible to combine these :

Code: Select all

<Group|Name:Albums...|Show tracks:No>\Albums with total Length greater than 3 hours ok|Icon:Top level|Filter:Songs.IDAlbum IN (SELECT IDAlbum FROM Songs GROUP BY IDAlbum HAVING Sum(SongLength) > 10800000)|Position:First child\<Album with album artist|Statistic:sum(length)|sort order:asc>
and this one :

Code: Select all

Tracks met Lyrics|Icon:Top level|Filter:<Lyrics> <> ''|Position:First child\<Title>\<Title|Trim:1>\<Title>
I tried to add "<Lyrics> <> " to the first code but this don't work

Did you try with AND? I don't know what you really want, but you have at least two possibilities. The first one:

Code: Select all

<Group|Name:Albums...|Show tracks:No>\Tracks with Lyrics from Albums with total Length greater than 3 hours|Icon:Top level|Filter:Songs.IDAlbum IN (SELECT IDAlbum FROM Songs GROUP BY IDAlbum HAVING Sum(SongLength) > 10800000) AND <Lyrics> <> ''|Position:First child\<Album with album artist|Statistic:sum(length)|sort order:asc>
and the second one:

Code: Select all

<Group|Name:Albums...|Show tracks:No>\Albums with total Length of tracks with Lyrics greater than 3 hours|Icon:Top level|Filter:Songs.IDAlbum IN (SELECT IDAlbum FROM Songs WHERE Lyrics <> '' GROUP BY IDAlbum HAVING Sum(SongLength) > 10800000)|Position:First child\<Album with album artist|Statistic:sum(length)|sort order:asc>

Thanks. the first mask works fine , i can now look at it and try to see how it works.
Did you try with AND?
yes i did ,but what i get is:
Songs.IDAlbum IN (SELECT IDAlbum FROM Songs GROUP BY IDAlbum HAVING Sum(SongLength) > 10800000) AND <Lyrics> = '
your mask ,working ok , is :
Songs.IDAlbum IN (SELECT IDAlbum FROM Songs GROUP BY IDAlbum HAVING Sum(SongLength) > 10800000) AND <Lyrics> <> ''
on the line starting with "filter " , i put : " and " "lyrics " "is " "<> " so i must be doing something wrong .

If you want to get tracks which have lyrics, you should specify "Lyrics", "is not", "" (empty string). After you click on the Add button, you should get <Lyrics> <> ''. You know, "<>" is logical operator which means "is not". By the way, you could get same result with Length(<Lyrics>) > 0.

Ok please bear with me ,where is the logic if i want to find tracks with lyrics ,how come i should specify "is not"?

Btw, you wrote: "I don't know what you really want ", this is part of another post which explains what i do:

"I use MM for audiobooks, one book may consist of many tracks, like :
Bryce Courtenay - April Fool's Day\00-April Fool's Day.mp3
Bryce Courtenay - April Fool's Day\01-April Fool's Day.mp3
Bryce Courtenay - April Fool's Day\02-April Fool's Day.mp3
Because i can't give an album ,which in this case is a "book" ,properties like a track i have the following setup:i select the first track ,open RightClickForWeb With Tagging http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ickForWebh panel, go to the Amazon book page , select the text of the bookreview and press: "Lyrics" button ,now i can see the reviews in "Lyrics and Comment Viewer" http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ent+viewer
This script http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 55&start=0doesn;t show the "lyrics"field , so i can probably use a script :ExtractFields , http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 66&start=0 to get all the lyrics switched to the comment field ,which is viewable in advanced report.
