Re: MM Helper 1.0.1 (Play Date Manager+Advanced Rating+M3U2SPL)
Wow I do believe this is what I have been looking for.
I use my iPod shuffle (1st Gen) to listen to my music when away from my PC. I use the shuffle because I don't need a screen and my auto-playlist sorts out my listening for me.
As you may know, when syncing with MM3 the play-counts will increase but as no internal clock the last-played will not.
Can your app help me here by filling in the missing last played dates? As in 'fake' dates?
After syncing my ipod, what would my process be? Do I run the entire library through the app?
Thanks.

Hi,
what isn't possible at the moment (I thought I have implemented it but I didn't...):
Creating fake plays based on the current playcounter. But I will add this in the next release.
How I add fake plays:
E.g. I've listened to the album "Testalbum" beginning at 3:15 PM.
So I select the album in MM, enter the start date in the MM Play Date Manager and hit "Add Continuous Play"
This creates more accurate plays.
You can also set the new playcount and then add fake plays with the app.
Hope that helps a bit.

Hey Christoph,
Any word on the next version to add fake plays based on the play counter?
Thanks,
Rob

Hello again, glad to hear you're releasing a new one soon. I have a question about using this though...
When I sync my 1st generation iPod to MM, The playcounts increment appropriately, and the last played time is updated correctly. However the history plays are not added to MM. I'm sure you're more aware of this then I am BTW...
I can't seem to get MM Helper to update tracks correctly... My example is as follows:
track x in MM: 4 plays, last played yesterday @ 10:30am (four history plays due to using "FakePlays" for test...)
track x played on iPod at work today, and synced to MM when I got home
track x in MM is now: 5 plays, lasy played today @ 3:15pm
But of course the historyplays don't show play #5. How do I use MM Helper to set that lastplayed date from my iPod to the latest historyplay, and fake any additonals that are required?
If I dont enter anything in the new playcount box, and select "last play date" as the start time nothing seems to happen, no fakes are added...

Re: MM Helper 1.0.1 (Play Date Manager+Advanced Rating+M3U2SPL)
Hey,
ok, I tested the following method (works only for one added play per track):
- enter +1 as new play count
- set "last played date" as start and end time
- hit "Synchronize"
On my computer the app creates a new play and sets the last played date as date. Afterward the play count won't change because before it was too high by one and got corrected.
Could you try it?
Thanks,
Christoph

Re: MM Helper 1.0.1 (Play Date Manager+Advanced Rating+M3U2SPL)
Well, FakePlays is working okay, but it changes the lastplayed time which sucks...
MMHelper isn't making the change at all... if I press the ref. playcount and lastplay button it will remove 1 from the count and reset the date to the previous one (in historyplays I guess).
Manually adding a single date works, so I know your program has access to the DB...

Hey,
no, don't press the "Refresh..." button. This function corrects the database item by resetting the play count and last play date.
Follow my posted steps and press "Synchronize"

Sorry, I didn't make it clar that I did follow your steps, and nothing changes.
Re: MM Helper 1.0.1 (Play Date Manager+Advanced Rating+M3U2SPL)
Hey,
ok, I made you a little movie:
http://www.troelfdesign.com/mediaplayer ... MMPlayDate
If I understand you correctly, it should work. Otherwise please describe the problem more.
So I took a song, opened the DB and increased the play count by 1 and changed the last played date.
The method creates a play that has the changed last played date.
Hope it helps.

Re: MM Helper 1.0.1 (Play Date Manager+Advanced Rating+M3U2SPL)
Actually, it helped...
I didn't realize that after typing in +1 i had to actually hit ENTER. I didn't know that +1 would appear in the play counts column until I saw the video.
Whooops...
Also, what are the "sync" dates and how is it calculated?

Hey,
great.
You can set different new play counts for different songs. Pressing Return is just to confirm it. I could add this to the button hint.
Everytime you hit "Synchronize" the app sets the current date as "Last Synched Date". This is stored in a seperate table of the MediaMonkey database. I took this idea of Briannons fake play script.

Hey,
the new Play Date Manager 1.1.0 is ready for testing.
This are the new features:
+ Function for changing the play count
+ Improved play date creation based on the given play count
+ Easier usage for iPod synchronisation
+ New list for selecting the correct function
You can download it here:
http://www.troelfdesign.com/en/download ... e-manager/
If you want, I can add a function for creating the iPod fake plays more easily.

Re: MM Helper 1.1.0 (Play Date Manager+Advanced Rating+M3U2SPL)
Hey there, back again! I was just letting you know I can't get the "change Play Count" to work. If I change from say 21 plays to 45, then press Start, nothing happens and my 45 gets changed back to 21.
