MM3.2.0.1294.

Hi Ray

Is it possible to upload the latest (or beta) version of the extension, the link in the first post is invalid. Or is it possible to update via MM's extension update thang?

Thanks

@jkforde:
In case you haven't found it by other means already, I just found a copy of the installer for V1-2 on my other computer and uploaded it to http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?b55ydodukmo.
I don't really have any experience with Mediafire, so I don't know for how long it will stay there (I uploaded it as an anonymous user).

MartinDK, got your file v1.2 off Mediafire, many thanks.

It installed fine but it is not queuing from the Now Playing panel list (linked to the MiniPlayer) but is working fine from the Library list (MMv.3.2.0.1294; not working either from within the Now Playing node listing). I normally have my library filtered, so I tried with no filtering but still no go (the random function does turn off but the chosen track is not lined up and doesn't play).

I'm aware of the fact that PN works one track at a time (earlier in this thread) but the script doesn't seem to like v.3.2 for some reason when it comes to Now Playing.

Anyhow, no worries Ray, thanks again for a handy script.

I don't think PlayNext ever worked in the Now Playing node. I seem to recall there being a limitation in MM at the time of the scripts development, or the scripter didn't know how to have it show up there (and never got around to another update before he stopped development).

I stand corrected. No clue then, why it's not working for jkforde.

This seems like what I was looking for, will try it out when I get home.

Basically, what I wanted is similar to the "queue" feature found in Amarok. The way this works is you have a playlist of let’s say 100 sings. Now you can arrange the songs, however you like within that playlist, alphabetically by title, by artist or completely randomly. Then you are able to use the “general” shuffle mode which plays the files in the playlist in a random order (note: this does not actually shuffles the playlist, just jumps around between songs in the playlist and does not go in order). This functionality is available in MediaMonkey.

What I am looking for is the “Queue Manager”. What this does is when you right-click on a song and select “add to queue” that song is added to a special “queue”, this queue is almost like a self-contained playlist where you can change things around. You can set it so that when you double-click a song in the playlist, instead of immediately playing it adds the song to the BOTTOM or TOP of the queue.

Right now MediaMonkey allows you to have a playlist. You can add songs to the Now Playing queue and shuffle them around. When you right click and click “play next” the song is physically added as the next song in the playlist. Obviously, if you have the general shuffle turned on this song will never “play next” as the next song would be completely random. I guess that is where this script comes in handy.

What makes the Queue Manager useful is the fact that it is not tied to anything. No matter what playlist you load, what is in the now playing list, whether you have shuffle turned on or not or whatever, the songs in the Queue will play in that specific order.

Sometimes I am playing a playlist and I am going through my library and find a song I want to listen to, it’s handy to add a few songs to play one after another and then go back to the playlist. Is this kind of feature supported?
