Your symptoms match exactly having the separator set to '/' yet clearly you have not got that set. I repeated your configuration here and got different results.

Despite what the pop-up says the separator IS used in Build Folders mode. I've made some more notes in the manual about this.

Please try one more time
* Set the separator to '@'
* Delete ALL the iTunes folders in iTunes
* Sync

One final thought ... you have deleted the d_itunes,dll for MM3? Leaving it behind can cause various misbehaviours.

Great. I've added some more notes in the Use of the Cache section in the manual.

Yup I have removed the d_itunes.dll.

I deleted all playlists from iTunes and changed the separator to @ and now this is the result. It's better but still not completely like it should be. iTunes.dll was able to do it fine so I'm sure its possible.

EDIT: Hmm its strange the playlists have slashes in MM but in iTunes they get dashes. I know that iTunes.dll didn't change it. For example "Hip Hop/Rap 1" became "Hip Hop-Rap 1"

It's not mine this time - I don't know when it crept into MM4 http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =7&t=61990
Because the playlist name is being changed I cannot derive what the parent folder is and so the 'corrupted' files are not nested properly within parent folders.

The obvious work around is to rename your playlists until it's fixed ...

I'm having problems syncing my 30k tracks. MM keeps crashing during the process, and then crashes similar to this bug http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =6&t=59768.

The problem is it always goes back to 1 of 30000 when it restarts, so it never finishes!

1459. Edit: previous builds had similar problems with d_itunes4.dll, but they'd eventually get there, whereas I've been trying for about a week with no joy so far to sync to itunes.

Hrm. Well the issue you linked to was reported by me, I could reproduce the crash at will. But now (even with this plugin), I can't reproduce any crash. Of course I am not syncing so many tracks as you, maybe that is the deciding factor...

I can confirm that there are no static sized data structures in the design - everything is linked lists. I only have 6k tracks. Not sure if I have any other users around 30k tracks.

Are you doing any conversions? It is reported the FLAC decode eats memory though I've not experinced it myself.

conversions could be the problem - I've converting a lot of WMA lossless files.

I have around 25k tracks, but I don't have any lossless. If I get any flac files I convert them to 320kbps mp3. I usually sync about 25 gigs to iTunes, and dont' have crashes syncing. My only problem is the playslists being funky

Thank you for the report.

I'm still tracking the playlist bug in MM.

If you create some partial playlists and sync a lower number of tracks each time does it work reliably? Try a handful of playlists, each with 1000 tracks and gradually work your way up to 30k. I appreciate that this isn't a permanent solution but it may get you started and give some diagnostic information that may help find the root problem.

I'm wondering if this is related to an issue I discovered. I got this working over the weekend, but have found that not all songs are synched. For example, I have a playlist with 160+ songs, which is mostly mp3s, but some WMAs. 127 of the songs are mp3 though. When it syncs to iTunes, it only syncs 126. I've identified the missing song in iTunes, but can't determine why it's not sync'ing. It is an mp3 file.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Switch on the debug to level 2 (bottom item in the device config page) and capture some output to examine. If you can't spot the problem yourself please post on here and I'll look too.

I've seen problems where the file is zero length, file permissions very odd, duplication of file names, illegal characters in fie names ... let's see what you can find :-)
