This has been happening to me as well, and tonight almost after every song.

I get the LastFMScrobbler.dll_unloaded error as well after I shut down MM.

Really annoying. If it continues without resolution I will, sadly, have to change over to something else (Media Jukebox/Winamp or something) which is a pity as I have a lifetime license.

Changing the date format resolved this issue for me.

I scrobbled flawlessly for 14,000 tracks, then all of a sudden, in the middle of playing songs, it just stopped submitting properly. I shut down the program and restarted, but it would only send the first song then freeze. I reloaded the last.fm client several times, but it did the same thing...just submitted a track and then froze (and actually the track it submitted showed up on the website while it was playing but then disappeared).

After reading this post I noticed in my log file that it was showing dates as D/M/YYYY. I went into Windows setting and changed the date format to DD/MM/YYYY, and the problem seems resolved. I am using Windows 7. I have no idea how the date format would have been changed, but there you go.

Tried that. It hasn't worked for me. Also running Windows 7 and my date format is dd/mm/yyyy, it doesn't change.

But thanks for the suggestion. I wonder if changing the date is impacting on something else that sorts it out though?

Well, maybe I spoke too soon.... it worked for a bit then froze up again. It always freezes on the "Submit Song" command. Here is the log file. Works fine for a few songs, then just stops. Again, I scrobbled 14K songs flawlessly during months of work, then it just started giving me trouble today, out of the blue. Any help is appreciated!

I'm wondering if the culprit may be Last.fm itself, given that we have uninterrupted periods where everything scrobbles fine and then we both start having problems together.
Don't know what the ins and outs would be technically, and if the problem is confined to the MM plugin, but maybe something along the lines that the submission is getting caught in Last.fm's cache which means that MM cannot transmit any other information. Although I don't know how this would fit with the scrobbler.dll being unloaded.

Anyway, just a thought... :-?

I get this a lot too. Looking at logs there is no error or details but just appears to have got stuck.

Sometimes this works flawlessly others it just gives up after a few tracks. Sometimes it just seems to refuse to scrobble at all.

I use MediaPortal to scobble at home and whilst this fails to submit occasionally it seems to work far more often than MM.

Nothing appears to get cached either so nothing at all gets submitted In fact I have just closed and opened MM and even though I have cache turned on the LastFM_Cache.dat file was created when I opened MM and deleted when I closed it. Should this file not persist between sessions to enable the cache to be submitted if you are offline??

Also please please please can you make the button easier to understand.... I am colour-blind and really struggle to figure out which is on/off/cache and need to ask someone else :o

I too have a color issue and often find it hard to tell the difference between Green (On) and Red (Off)

Just replace Icon files with those you are find more appeling. Icons are:
Scripts\Auto\LastfmCache.ico
Scripts\Auto\LastfmOn.ico
Scripts\Auto\LastfmOff.ico

Ahh good idea will do that.

After reading a few more threads I am now not sure what cache is meant to do. I was under the impression that with cache on playlist would be stored and submitted later if not online but if you are online then things will get submitted immediately. Based on the above, I am sure I am running in cache mode but the cache is being deleted when MM is closed which surely destroys any history? (or was it only deleted because it was empty ?)

It gets deleted only when it is empty and you are right about cache functionality.

any news?

Either you change the icon like I did or/and you edit the mouse-over-text on that icon.

Open "..\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\!LastFM.Options.vbs " with an editor, scroll down to Line 53 and change

Code: Select all

  LastfmQuickButton.Hint = SDB.Localize("Enable, disable or cache only Last.fm submissions.")
to

Code: Select all

LastfmQuickButton.Hint = SDB.Localize("Enable (green), disable (red), or cache only (yellow) Last.fm submissions.")
.

Or rewrite that sentence by your own :). That should do the job.

Not sure what news. It is known that submissions have issues when multiple players are used.

Also I noticed that last.fm filter tracks longer than 1h sometimes.

hup? "Multiple players"? What do you mean?
On my side only MediaMonkey is running, nothing else.

I've been having this same issue - MM, Win7 x32. My date format is set to DD/MM/YYYY as standard.

MM will scrobble for a while, and then just stop. It continues to submit things as Now Playing, and will claim (according to the log file) to submit completed tracks, but they don't appear. I guess because MM thinks the tracks have been submitted successfully, they're not written to the cache either, so they're lost. I'm currently using the Universal Scrobbler at http://lastfmstats.livefrombmore.com/un ... scrobbler/ to make sure things don't disappear forever.

I have spoken to someone at Last.FM support and he tracked down the sessionIDs but can only say "Your tracks aren't hitting the database", and "We don't support MediaMonkey as a third party plugin".

WinAmp seems to work fine, so it really does look like an issue with the MM Scobbler. It annoying, because it's intermittent and unpredictable - the hardest of all types of bug to track down!
