MediaMonkey for Win 8 / RT builds

Post by rusty »

We're proud to announce that MediaMonkey for Windows 8 / RT is now available on the Microsoft App Store!

You can download the latest version from:
http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/app/m ... 0d046b53ea

What's new? Note:
  • - To sync wirelessly with MediaMonkey, you'll need to install MediaMonkey 4.1+ (4.1 is currently in beta testing, available via the beta forum)
The app is free, but some functionality can be purchased as an addon. At the moment, the only addon is WiFi Synchronization--a 7-day trial is included, but after that you can purchase the addon from within the application.
Enjoy and please let us know what you think!

MediaMonkey for Win 8 / RT rel. 10 (1.0.4.62)

Post by rusty »

Hi,

fyi, a new version has been posted to the store (it'll likely go live within the hour). The most significant changes are fixes to UPnP (it previously failed completely on some systems), stability fixes for large collections (MM8 now dynamically disables grouping if it detects stability issues related to large collections), and elimination of .XXXXXX files that were created on removable media when editing file properties.

There are many other fixes as well--here's a more comprehensive list of changes from the last 2 releases:

Release 10 (1.0.3.62)
Added Support for disc #
Improved Navigation by year
Fixed On some machines UPnP isn't working at all
Fixed UPnP cache isn't cleared
Fixed UPnP Message appears on non UPnP nodes
Fixed Misc UPnP issues (Live Tile, missing menu functions)
Fixed MM crashes often when using semantic zoom in large library
Fixed 'Select All' triggers a crash in the UPnP view
Fixed numerous crashes related to switching views in a large library
Fixed Navigating to Artists viewed by Title --> Home/Back stop working
Fixed Years fail to display in track browser in some cases
Fixed Rating from WMA isn't imported properly
Fixed Artwork doesn't show in Live Tile/Volume Popup/Notification Popup
Fixed Covers are not read from MP3 files with ID3v2.2
Fixed Multiple values are presented without separating spaces
Fixed Tagging MP3 files on removable media creates .XXXXXX files
Fixed Lyrics display config doesn't persist

Release 9 (1.0.3.53)
Improved Semantic zoom for Genres should show genre text rather than letters
Fixed Incorrect animation
Fixed Sort settings aren't differentiated between Albums, Audiobooks, and Podcasts
