MMA will not read or play m4a files on SD card on Galaxy S9

Post by ppeart@gmail.com » Wed Jan 08, 2020 9:42 am

I use MMW(10) (lifetime lic.) and love it.
Recently added about 1200+ .M4a files and no issues with recognition or playing on PC.
Synced these same 1200+ .m4a files to my Galaxy S9 via MMA and the files will not play
They appear in the listing and are physically located with my other thousands of music files (MP3) that play.
I have seen hints of this issue in the forum, but none of the solutions offered help me.
To be clear: MMA on Galaxy S9 is not reading or playing .M4a files stored on SD card

Hi,
Can you please let us know what you have done. I had Samsung S9 (SM-G960F Model) on test for a few hours in order to do a full factory reset.

Before I have done it, here is what I have done:
0. Installed MMA on S9
1. inserted SDCard to phone https://www.samsung.com/ca/support/mobi ... remove-it/
2. Phone detected New SDcard inserted and Formated it (it was MicroSDHC 32GB card)
3. Connected phone viaUSB and copied few files in Music folder using Explorer
4. Started MMA, asked for permission, scanned changes and tracks played without problem.
5. Disconnected Ejected (Removed Safely as explained above) SDCard from S9
6. Using PC card reader saved number more files to SDCard
7. Inserted card to phone and played few new songs from SDcard.

Can you please check if your SDCard is encrypted maybe?
