Hello staff,

my headline already said it: i miss the function "more from same composer". You may have the intention to clear the menu which is okay as the idea. From my personal point of view you let entries that i never use (folder & my computer) and took away the "composer" which i the entry which i use the most. I know that will differ from user to user. So maybe you could make the menu customizable in the options?

I'd like to support the wish from another user that the node "composer" (or other nodes) will open a list in alphabetical order when it is clicked. To do this with a special option will be okay for me too.

I also recall that since version 2104, there is no more wikipedia information associated with composers.

Reading the entry of Teodore i remember that i saw the link to wikipedia too but forgot about it in the meantime. I found it a cool feature. Please bring it back

AND if you let the users choose to which wikipedia (english, french, german etc) it will be as cool as possible .

1) better support for Composers added as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=14996
2) better support for Wiki description language - you can already change this language in view header menu "Choose different language", but it does not persist now, added as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=14997

3) re artist/composer list in alphabetical order in media tree - you can already use "showAllNodes" sample script (in SampleScripts folder as mmip addon), which adds this functionality.

Hi there,

I was quite happy reading in the changelog that you have implemented the "find from same composer" that quickly. Installing the new version 2117 i got a somehow strange behaviour of the MM 5 .

I took a track from the entire list (in Track view), clicked on it and chosed "find more from same composer". It was Johann Sebastian Bach by the way. Then the middle part of the program window changed. In the upper part there was the wikipedia entry for the composer (in english) and below a handful of tracks. there was a link asking "show all 1862 tracks". I clicked on it ....waiting a lot of time (way too long) and then a tracklist view opened with title, artist, album, length , bitrate and path. Bitrate and path weren't filled with information. But what made my jaw bones fall down was the artist field .... ALL entries were filled with the name of the composer. Blood pressure was rising .... fortunately MM 5 did not change the real tag information in the file. Though the properties panel said that (in MM5).

Did the same with a composer with less tracks (Aaron Copland). Only 46 tracks. The track list which appeared (very quickly) had NO artist information and a quite different selection of header entries ... Title, album, rating and length. This time there was all the information for length.

it's about the name of the composer in wikipedia.

I used to indicate the year of birth and death for composers in the tag (mainly for classical music).
It seems that this conflicts with the wikipedia label: double years.

Good evening from Berlin,

opening the MM5 today after work i got the view with the the composer Johann Sebastian Bach AND with .... all the right informations in the artist field. What did not change is the instable way the columns are mixed together, when i choose 'more from same composer'.

Same behaviour with "more from same artist" too.

When i have got more than one artist in the properties the "more from same artist' functions shows all in a row. Up to now only the last entry is taken to build a new list. MM4 separates the different entries in several 'more from same' lines. That's what i would expect here too .

It probably displayed Online tracks from online DB, not your local files, that is why bitrate and path were empty and fetching took long time, and because we cannot differentiate artist and composer for online data, Bach was filled to artist only. Will fix "Find more from same...", so it will jump to local data, it is bug now.
