Hi, in the log I see that it found "Kitchen speaker" using mDNS:

Code: Select all

mDNS: candidate: 47098a38-8484-1b33-d251-82a3c0476d28- adding: 192.168.1.66, name: Kitchen speaker
Also, in the persistent.json there is the "Kitched Speaker" entry:

Code: Select all

 "LAST_REMOTE_PLAYERS": [
        {
            "udn": "47098a38-8484-1b33-d251-82a3c0476d28",
            "name": "Kitchen speaker",
            "last_seen": "2019-01-09 09:18:49",
            "ip": "http://192.168.1.66:8008/"
        }
    ],
So I guess that the "Kitchen speaker" is shown in the list and you are able to play into it ?
So (if I guess correctly) the issue is that you have some other speakers that have been detected yeasterday, but are no longer detected?
If yes, then it is strange that they are not seen in the persistent.json , are the other speakers visible in other apps (and Chrome) at the same time?

Hi Ludek

Apologise for not being clear, 'Kitchen Speakers' is the name of the Chromecast speakers that were previously missing. They are now visible in MM after the actions we discussed yesterday.

So - by my account, removing that Json file has fixed the issue!

Hi Ludek

The past two versions keep suspending and or crashing. Might just be when I cast.

Send me that link to debug and I'll track them for you.

Hi, which link to debug? Supposing you have the debug version ( http://www.mediamonkey.com/beta/MediaMo ... _Debug.exe ) then crash log should be auto-generated, did you submit it?
If it is not generated then debug log (item 4b here: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 30&t=86643 ) would show more.

Hi - sorry I meant the tool you sent me once that recorded bugs and crashes. I used it to send you a report. Can you resend me that file so I can send you a report of these new crashes?

I don't think that a tool is needed, when MM5 crashes it should auto generate crash log to submit (see item 4a here https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 30&t=86643 )
Was such a log generated for you? Did you submit it? What was the log ID?

If the crash log isn't generated then please catch the log in the DbgView and share the log (see item 4b here: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 30&t=86643 )

Thanks!

Hey

An alert comes up and asks if I want to submit the crash but even that freezes so nothing gets sent. Here is the report I managed to generate from the latest crash: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AoM1UrOaoKUMj44lyY_Rwd0iiMn0Kg

Hi, thanks, I see there is

Code: Select all

 Exception!! - Unknown cast message type: DEVICE_UPDATED
I will fix that for the next build as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=15477

Just strange that submitting freezes and nothing gets sent, maybe you would need to let it more time (e.g. minute) to finish collecting the callstacks and debug info. Anyhow, the debug output for DbgView is enough, thanks.

I assume the fix deals with other devices than Chromecast as well? I see the same issue using a Kygo speaker.

Can you generate the debug log also for the Kygo speaker -- to be sure that it is the same error?

Hi - I don't stop the crash report from sending. It just freezes. I usually leave it a few minutes but then have to force quit the application as nothing happens

Please see #C825E5DF. MM5 crashed and I was able to generate and send log (I also usually end up in a situation where it all hangs and I have to terminate it hard).

The stack shows
UpNp.TChromeCastHandler.OnCastMessage 'Failed to get screenId from '
UpNp.TChromeCastHandler.OnCastMessage 'Unknown cast message type: '
Exception!! - Unknown cast message type: DEVICE_UPDATED

Guess it's fixed in 2161?

Yes, that's the same error (also based on the crash log C825E5DF)

So it is fixed in 2061

Hi Ludek

I downloaded MediaMonkey 5.0.0.2167 Beta.

This (and the last 2-3 versions) have the following issues for me:
1 - Can no longer play a song by double clicking on it. I have to right mouse click to play
2- After a few minutes of playing (casting), play just stops and I get a weird blue line below the menu items. This can be seen here: https://1drv.ms/w/s!AoM1UrOaoKUMj5E_b9V-qRO9wR0dWQ Once that blue line appears, I cannot click any buttons and have to force close the app.
3 - As of today (two days since the rest of this post) my Casting speakers are not found in MM.

Do you mean double-click when the track is already playing? I see, when the track is already playing the double-click does not restart the playback of the track (unlike in MM4), will be fixed in the next build.

I cannot replicate, is it that UI is frozen during that time of the blue line? Any crash log is generated when you left it for a minute (before force closing)?
Probably debug log (generated using DbgView) should show more.

3 - As of today (two days since the rest of this post) my Casting speakers are not found in MM.
There hasn't been any change re the device discovery (except for excluding the audio groups), could you try to restart your router and/or the devices to see whether it resolves the issue?
What is the "last_seen" timestamp in the persistent.json for the devices?
Anyhow, if nothing of the above helps then please generate debug log (using DbgView) and sent me the link.
