After rebooting MM the new location is no longer in the list of Locations

I can't replicate this in 2194.
Did you close MM5 normally?

MM5 seems to delay persistence of some configuration changes until normal shutdown

Meaning that changes can be lost if MM5 ends abnormally or is still open when the PC is powered off.

Possible this is what you saw?

Whether or not this is desirable behaviour is another matter of course.

I'm not powering the PC off, just exiting MM then opening it again. MM operates normally & there's no error messages

@Barry - you were probably right. The problem has gone away. It is hard to tell what MM is doing sometimes as the progress bar stops but processing continues without any indication of what it is or the duration. Other times it appears to be processing something but has actually frozen.
