Will Milkdrop / Project M ever be fully implented

Post by resirch »

First, I have been a HUGE fan of MM since it was introduced to me in 2005. I have followed MM5 from the first alpha through the official RTM. You have done amazing work.

A long time user can't help but notice that Milkdrop is noticeably missing from MM5. You do have a skeletal visualization of MD i have noticed but it is not true Milkdrop.

This isn't a complaint or even a feature request. I'm a reasonably technical guy so if you have a chance to explain what the roadblocks were that led to Milkdrop not being implemented, it would be nice.

All the best.

Hi,
Simple answer is incompatibility to MM implementation (JScript) of Milkdrop (from Sample scripts)

I tried several out of 52k from https://sourceforge.net/projects/mdpresetpack/ and all failed with sound not defined.

As you noticed, basic support was implemented.

I guess that MilkShake Presets (Rename presets.js to 1Presets.js and then presetsall.js to presets.js) should work and you should have more choices.

More on the projects at https://github.com/gattis/milkshake

Now from what I see MILK files should be converted into JSON versions from presets.js
