RegExp Alternatives or workarounds?

RegExp Alternatives or workarounds?
In MM4 I relied heavily on RegExp to manipulate tag data in bulk. With RegExp no longer supported in MM5, has anyone devised a suitable workaround to perform similar tasks, e.g. "Copy <field-A> to <field-B>"?

Just continue to use MMW4 and RegExp for this sort of editing and use MMW5 for tasks you find that useful for.
It is not that MMW4 add-ons are "not supported", my understanding is that they would need to be re-written.
My personal approach is to use MMW4 and a "master" copy of my MP3 files on my D:\ drive then have a back-up copy of ALL the MP3 files on my E: drive for use with MMW5. This allows me to make use of the various add-ons available for MMW4 like RegExp, Lyricator, Tagging Inconsistencies, ExportM3UsForSubNodes, MagicNodes.
I try to see this from the view point of the developer(s) of these add-ons. They probably want to wait until we are a few stable versions in before re-writing.
