video not in full screen mode

Post by naatani »

I installed MM5 on a laptop and on a detachable tablet (MS Surface Pro). Both devices are equipped with Windows 10. MM5 runs perfectly on the laptop. However, MM5 does not display videos in full screen mode on the tablet. I checked the settings and could not find any differences between laptop and tablet. Any ideas on what I have overlooked.

Hi,
Like you said there should not be an issue. I have seen Video drivers and windows itself reserve screen space, but it was very rare and I am not sure if that is the case with you.

Can you please make full desktop screenshot while MM is playing the Video?

As you are new user you can't post links in forum yet, copy/paste links without HTTP:// and add space instead of dots eg. "www mediamonkey com/forum/"

Hi,
Do you have Intel GPU or integrated?

This screenshot looks to me that GPU did't do resize of WebGL video overlay. Try to update GPU/Chipset Drivers.

I am having this same issue on ONE of my two Dell / Win10 PCs. MMW4 does not have this problem.

I have just updated both the Intel graphics drivers AND the PC firmware via Windows Update and it did not resolve the issue.

Info from System Info for my graphics setup:

Code: Select all

According to https://webglreport.com/ , my browser (MS Edge 93) supports both WebGL v1 and v2. And I note that v2 came out before I even bought this PC.

Debug created with MMW 5.02.2502. Same thing happens as with the current stable release.

Any update? Logs already provided. The clock is ticking on how long I can continue to use v5 before I have to uninstall it due to the version not yet being licensed and losing my syncing capabilities.

I never said it's a Surface, I said it's a Dell desktop.
This PC is connected via HDMI to a 4K TV. A setup that MMW4 has zero problems with.
MMW5 has zero problems on my other Dell desktop, HDMI to an ultrawide monitor.

WebGL?

Post by gordol »

The original topic for this has gone dormant. The issue is videos don't play full screen. There is a screen shot from another user here: viewtopic.php?f=33&t=99909&p=486178&hilit=video#p486178

This happens on one of the two desktop PCs I have MMW installed on.

In another channel, Peke diagnosed it as a problem with WebGL on the Intel integrated graphics on my Dell desktop. However, https://get.webgl.org/ indicates there is no problem with WebGL on this PC. All of the streaming I do via MS Edge or Firefox work. Youtube, Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, IMDbTV, others...

Does this make sense?

This is a Dell Inspiron 3470 connected to an 4kTV via HDMI. Display properties per System Info below:

I was finally able to find an inexpensive video card, and then a low-profile slot adapter, and install today. An AMD Radeon HD 7450 (now with the VGA socket removed).

Re-upgraded to MMW5 and this issue has gone away.

I wish the OP luck. This is a hardware issue.
