Hi,

I think it is a deplorable situation, freeDB wouldn't work if applications merely requested content -- there wouldn't be any to request.

You cannot do anything about users not submitting xmcd information, but I would do something about applications (especially commercial ones) that contribute zero content, they are nothing but a drain on resources.

MM provides the DISCID, so you could easily put something together -- or use the JeFCo FreeDB Server, or even compile and install the official one.

JUST SUBMITTING ARTIST&ALBUM tag to freedb!! argh.. :-?

Is there any news on this or are "they" still waiting for an external developer to write a plugin for this?

Cheers

That would be a great option. You could to a track match by duration but then MM would get blamed if the tracks were not properly matched because the times were not as expected. Isn't everything the developers fault?

You would sort on length of time on both set of tracks.

5 1/2 years later and still no possibility of looking up an album ID on Freedb from the files? You have to wonder...

Why even Foobar can do it!

We are now half way through 2012 and still no improvement in the tagging/lookup situation. Well, I guess I should use the obvious fact that this will not be addressed as motivation to learn how to code it myself...
