I'm not really sure what is this thread about, few posts above I wrote that a complete Win7 support is planned for MM 4.0. I don't know why the posts about 'MM team not listening'...

Besides that it's planned for version 4 of MediaMonkey, Windows 7 isn't yet a final release. Give the team some time, version 4 indicates a big update which will probably enable things like Windows 7 integration to be build in. MediaMonkey isn't programmed by some big evil empire, instead by a small team of dedicated programmers. Resources need to be planned well.

Just hang on to your hats and wait till MediaMonkey 4.

I, for one did not mean to insult the MM Team. They do a good job!

I just want to insult the MM GUI for its rustyness that keeps lots of my friends (pretty much all of them) from using MM, because it is working very well, but it feels bad. Now in Windows 7 it's not just rusty but broken, which is a bit frustrating.

I still love the monkey, but what I am saying is, that extending the old GUI with Windows 7 fixes might not cut it this time.
Maybe it's a good idea to take a closer look at some scripts and plugins and build a new, fast, clean interface which brings the most wanted features innately.
Not an easy and probably a time consuming job. I see that, and I am not in a hurry, just talking.

But Windows 7 is out next month and everybody wants one, so prepare for the worst ;)

I pretty much agree, it's one of the aspects that should be significantly improved in MM 4 (along with many other new features... ;-) )

Hear! Hear!

We love MM; let there be no misunderstanding.
I tried to use words that would not insult.
I think it is because we love MM so much that we do not want to see it "turn to rust".
It is reassuring to hear your words Jiri. I feel a bit more comfortable about it all now.
I know you cannot put a time frame on the development of MM4, but are we looking at some time before Q1 2010 for the "...many other new features".

No, Trix is not one of the developers, just a very dedicated user.

You would think by now that most folks know better to jump on the "first" edition of ANY operating system Micro$oft releases. Their software usually stabilizes somewhat after Service Pack 2 of any given operating system. You're brave, but you too will be cussing Micro$oft when things don't work or get broken. I wish you luck.

I think it's funny that there's still people out there who use the dollar sign instead of an s when typing out Microsoft. It's so insignificant in its rebelliousness that it's adorable.

Jump list - please ignore mmip files

Post by antiduplicity »

Greetings,
The win7shell integration is coming along. Thanks. I would like to be able to only have songs (mp3 files) in my pull down jump list. Right now it is full of mmip files. I know this is because I just did a clean install, but I will only install these once, so why have them on the list?

Thanks
Michael

Please show progress n the taskbar icon

Post by antiduplicity »

I know it is possible to show the progress of the playing song by a growing green section of the icon in the taskbar. Can you do that for mediamonkey?

Thanks
