Color coding tracks

Post by Guest »

I just recently started using "artist top tracks" script (forget who wrote it i'm sorry but you're awesome!). It uses last.fm to determine the popularity of tracks (up to the top 50 most popular tracks of an artist). It got me thinking... i would love to be able to color code my tracks based on the popularity. This is how i would use it:

Tracks highlighted green: tracks that are 1-10 most popular
Tracks highlighted yellow: tracks that are 11-50 most popular
Tracks highlighted red: tracks that are 50+ most popular

Then all the tracks highlighted green would most likely be a single from an album or at least a very popular song from the artist.

I know DJ's would find this feature quite useful to as they could use it to color code tempo's... or a lot of people would use it to color code their ratings they give their songs.

Is something like this in the works? I don't know how hard it would be to set up or how much of a hog it would be on system resources. Anyways, this would be a wishlist of mine.

Would be a very useful feature.

I wonder if it would integrate well with all the skins tho.

Anyway I support your wish.

That would be a very nice feature indeed. Specialy if you could choose the colors yourself to suite your skin.

It has been requested and discussed before, but never got major traction on the forum. As long as it's optional it doesn't bother me as I would not want this.

Two different threads (this current thread, and http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... rs#p274909) in two months... and it would've been a third if I hadn't searched for it first.

+1 for color coding for me. C'mon guys, let's give it the traction it needs!

Any more on this? I'd really like to see this integrated.
