"Search Wikipedia" context menu option.

Post by Rick540 » Wed Jul 31, 2013 8:46 pm

I just wanted to say first of all I love MediaMonkey. I've been using it for years and as long as it's around, I'll still be using it.

I think it would be great to have some sort of "Search Wikipedia" right click/context menu option. I often find myself listening to a song and decide to find out more about the artist or album and inevitably I go to Wikipedia for the artist/album info. Also, when I tag my songs and look for the album a song came from or the year an album was released, I go to Wikipedia. Instead of having to copy/paste the song name/artist/album name into Wikipedia, I could just right click inside MediaMonkey, choose the "Search Wikipedia" option and bang, I'm done. Saves a BUNCH of time.

Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work though. MediaMonkey for life.

Thanks!!!

Tools -> Options -> Appearance -> Check "Show links in file list:" -> Select "Wikipedia"

Or, some like having those links search the library (basically quick links to "Find More From Same" on the field they're in), you can right click the icon in the file list and choose Wikipedia.

Also, in the beta you can, on a song, right-click->Get Info/Buy->Wikipedia

It would be sweet if we could assign a hot key <G>

You might wanna check the webpanel.
With a little config you get everything you want: wiki, cover img, google search, lyrics. Everything that can be opened via a URL with call parameters (artist, album, track) substituting the placeholders.
