Podcasts don't auto-delete on MMA

Hi - I download BBC podcasts to MMW fine, then sync to MMA listen to them and resync. On updating MMW after the resync they are deleted from the MMW podcast list correctly. Unfortunately they never get deleted from MMA. I can get rid of the ones that I have already listened to by deleting all podcasts from MMA then re-syncing, but I would expect the MMW rules to also apply to MMA. Is this functionality by design? To have non-Library content (includes anything deleted in MMW) removed from your device on sync you'll need to set the delete option to all media files in the Device Profile setting for deleting content on sync.
