Thanks for the tip Nyn, however I have no playlists with characters. Only use alpha numeric.
I just ran the script again with the same result.
My error message is identical to yours as well.

I too have nested playlists - how else can we exist, ha ha.

I wonder what the answer is to this issue...

Look in the line with the near .... syntax error, do you have any playlists with that information in the name, that's how I figured out which playlist(s) were causing the problems???

I'm just waiting on TM, hopefully he has a solution because I CANNOT function without my nested playlists, I have just too many to wade through and I definately cannot get rid of any. I already have over 100 that are archived and are not in the library.

Yes, it does appear apostrophes are a problem - I'll get this fixed in the next version.

About not all playlists being exported - this is deliberate. The purpose of this script is to backup your AUTOplaylists - this is in the description in the first post. The parents are only exported to keep the structure in tact. To export all the manual playlists would mean exporting all the playlist tracks which would also mean exporting all the tracks. Basically that means exporting the entire database, for which you should use my "Backup" script! :D

Ok, I guess I missed that one, thanks for the explanation.

Ah, that's a misunderstanding on my part, too.
I supposed it backed up all playlists. Perhaps a slight change to the title is appropriate. For example: Backup AutoPlaylists. 2.0.

Nevertheless, I still get that horrid error message, so I'll wait and see what turns up...

I've tried to make this clearer in the first post, but won't rename the script (although your suggestion is sensible) as that will probably cause even more confusion! :)

TM:

I tried the import feature of the script, and none of the playlists were imported. For those that said playlist already exists, they were in a new location so they should have imported fine. For the others that said they were imported, nothing was imported:

The location of the playlist is not checked, only the name, so that is why some are being excluded.

Is the "MMPath" correct for the location of your current "MM.DB" file? Are the new playlists not appearing at all, or are they being created but empty? Could you email me your "BackupPlaylists.DB" file?

Hi TM:

Yes, the mmpath is correct for the location of the database and the playlists that say they were imported correctly are being imported as empty playlists. I even tried to delete all my playlists so there are none in the db and then run the import and it still gives me the same messages. The file is on its way to you.

New version (2.1) is now available to download from my website. It has been fixed to work with playlists which contain apostrophes.

Works fine for me! Are you on Vista? If so then you need to make sure that MM is "run[ning] as administrator".

I am an expert at running scripts on Vista, so that is not the problem. BUT, there are a few that for some reason only work if I download them with Firefox, one day I will figure out why. :-? And or course, I always forget to try this....
