Re: Zekton_Blue Skin
Hi Glennergy, I'm glad you like the skin. Thanks for your comments. You are right, the tan color is starting to get me sick. It was in my plans to change the color but was uncertain about what to choose. Light gray might be good, maybe light blue (something like Cafe Blues skin) or simply matt white.glennergy wrote:Hello, I've been trying out your Zekton-Blue skin today. It is my favorite MM skin so far. I love the player --the controls, the size of the timer, and the size and location of the song scroll bar. I really like the play/pause button, and the information that is viewable about each track. I also love the 3d quality across the entire skin. I also love the blue-gray color you chose. It has the best feeling for me of any I've tried.
It is almost everything I've been looking for in a skin, with one exception -- the tan background is a color that I really do not like. I dislike that color enough that I might choose a different skin. I notice that you have made modifications before. Is there any chance you would be willing to make that one single change to your Zekton-Blue skin too? Change the tan background across the entire skin to either a light gray, or white, or something other than tan? And, now that I learn about your SE edition, that is even better too - I do like the wide scrollbars!
If this is something I can easily edit myself too, I am happy to do so.
If not, no problem. Maybe I will learn to make my own skin one day.
Thank you.
Your wished are like orders, so i will make a new version.
It should be available next week-end.

That is great, thank you!
But, I am not familiar with that. How do I find them there? Do I need to sign up for an account with them?

No, it's free for downloading with Basic service. Just go to first post in this thread, all download links are listed at the end.glennergy wrote:That is great, thank you!

Zekton Blue was the first skin I built. It's also the most downloaded one (to date).
But as glennergy mentioned above, the tan background color is not very interesting.
So I made a new version with same polished look as P-Steel, but I'm not sure about background color.
#1 and #3 can also be used with Zekton Bronze and P-Steel, #2 is specific to the skin's color.
It can be lighter than #3 but it will loose its light shading effects. Personally I prefer #3.
Any suggestion?
Thanks

My vote is for #2. To be honest, I absolutely loved your skins with the exception of the background color. I like a darker look so either 1 or 2 would work for me but as I said, if I'm forced to make a choice, I'd go for 2.

#3 It has more "zing" and more contrast with the text for easier reading.
Can't afford a signature.

I always loved this cover of Vitalic with the stairs.
As for the color I like best #2
but #3 has bigger contrast and can be easier for reading.
Though decision I suppose.

My vote is for #1, only because I think #2 would just be too much blue.
If I can make a suggestion, I would like to see what a dark grey or black background with white letters would look like. I really like the way your colors for the theme look (a dark theme would be cool too) and I think they would contrast well with a dark background.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks Vyper, GeraldB, Dreadlau, Rrfpacker.
Yes it's a tough decision. I dig into it for too long now and finally found a "perfect" blue background to fit with it.
Not too light, not too dark, not obstructive to the eye. I tried different combinations of grey and light colors but
it became flat and boring.
P-Blue with more contrast and polished style alike (same as P-Steel), enlarged scrollbars and got rid of middle shadow.
I like it. But the 2 px frame color around the panels is not definitive. What do you think?
For those who like darker skins, it was in my plans to make a Black Zekton. As soon as I finish this one.
Thanks all for your impression and suggestions.

Looks good to me in the screenshot. Would have to actually put it on to decide for sure.

I love it!! Due to problems I have been having with my eyes lately I have had to give up using the dark skins. It is good to have another blue one to add to my collection, keep up the great work.
