Hi

This is all I have in my MediaMonkey.ini file - I guess we're near to the problem!

cfg_buf_ms=2000
cfg_dev=0
cfg_volume=1
cfg_altvol=0
cfg_resetvol=0
cfg_prebuf=0
cfg_trackhack2=0

You're not looking at the good mediamonkey.ini.

Here's the default location of this file:
MediaMonkey 3.0:
- Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.ini
- Windows Vista: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.ini
Skins for MediaMonkey: Cafe, Carbon, Helium, Spotify, Zekton. [ Wiki Zone ].

As the person who posted the original Wishlist message that started this, first can I say thank you to raybeau528 for his solution.

Having belatedly followed the link through from my original thread, I too encountered the same error message as uksnowy however ...

The error message only appears if you use Tools->Scripts.

Instead of this, set up the parameters for PlayListBuilder using Tools->Options, thereafter all the (useful) functions of the script can be accessed by right clicking on different Playlists, first right click on each of the Playlists you want to add to the mix, and from the PlayListBuilder right click option choose Add Selection. Finally right click on the parent Playlist, and from the PlayListBuilder option, choose Build Sub-Playlists.

So PlayListBuilder is fully useable despite the error message.

Note To raybeau528: Thanks for this, PlayListBuilder is just what I need, but if there is another version, could you please fix the Tools->Scripts problem. (FYI I'm running Windows XP and MediaMonkey 3.0.6.1190)

Thanks civiliza for pointing this out. I've been through the code numerous times and didn't understand how uksnowy got that error.

Do not invoke the script this way. It is installed in the scripts\auto directory and starts/initializes when MM starts. Just use the functions available by right-clicking on a tree node, the Main track list, or the now playing window.

Just finished meddling with the various script files, and I found out that the Tools->Scripts method of accessing PlayListBuilder can be eliminated by commenting out (with an apostrophe at the start of the line) each of the 8 lines in Scripts.ini associated with PlayListBuilder.

I'm way beyond my depth here, but maybe these lines are superfluous and the installation file be amended accordingly?

I haven't noticed any other side effects of this commenting out, but if anyone knows why these lines should / should not be removed, please add a reply.

After you commented those lines out and restart MM, if you go to Tools/Extensions is PlayListBuilder listed there as a script which can be uninstalled?

Yup, it's there, and if you click on PlayList Builder the Uninstall button becomes available.

Of course, I commented the lines out after it had installed, so that's not a guarantee that it would still work if the lines were NEVER there.

I know that I'm out of my depth here, and my guess is that you're not 100% sure yourself. Is there a way we can flag this to a higher authority?

I don't think there's anything to flag. It's an AUTO script. Don't invoke it via tools/scripts. I will look at writing some code so if you do try to run it that way it will delete all files on your hard drive ! Just kidding. I'll flag it that it's an auto script and basically do nothing.

Hey - I wasn't aiming to criticize, just trying to help tie off a loose end.

The Link for version 1.6 says it is invalid. Is it still available?
