WOW. That would of taken you a while to do then!

I'm sorry to hear that its still not working for you. Could you *yet again* try some older versions?

Code: Select all

Lyricator v0.9.6b = http://www.filedropper.com/lyricator
Lyricsplugin Search Script = http://mm-scripts.googlecode.com/files/lyricsplugin-1.0.mmip
The last one uses Lyricsplugin.com for its results, which I believe isn't working anymore, I was just wanting to see if it still gives you errors.

Lyricator v0.9.6b = This version returns the "http://www.lyricsvip.com" results, but other than that it seems to work like it should. It saves that to the Lyrics tag on the MP3.
Lyricsplugin Search Script = It installs but then doesn't show up in the scripts list.

You might need to uninstall, then blow away the add-in and script folder underneath [install path]program files\MediaMonkey\Scripts or is it \Add-ins... . I believe that was detailed earlier in this thread somewhere. Try the "search this thread" box for "folder" or "program files."

MM and Lyricator work on my computer at work, but not on my laptop at home where I really need it to. This is after a complete uninstall of MM using Revo Uninstaller to uninstall and cleanup any leftover files and registry entries, and a restart of the computer.
Both my work PC and my laptop are running Win 7 Pro 64 bit, both Intel CPU, both at least 6 GB of RAM, same AV software. The only big difference is the work PC is on a domain and the laptop is in a workgroup.

Any ideas of what could be different?

I'm back on my work computer this morning and I went to use Lyricator and it didn't show up in the Scripts list, so I decided to try right clicking the MM shortcut and choosing Run as Administrator, then it worked as it is supposed to.
How can I make it run as Admin every time?

I've yet to test the new version, but I had been using the older version. At work we don't have admin rights to install stuff so I developed a portable version of MediaMonkey that runs off a flash drive. The fact that Lyricator requires admin rights is causes problems when I'm at work. Is there a way to write the script so that it doesn't require admin rights? This would be a huge help.

In the upcoming version of Mediamonkey ( mm4 ), it will be possible to install scripts without admin rights.

Right-click the shortcut -> Properties -> Shortcut Tab -> Advanced ..... check the 'Run As Administrator' box. :)

It's not that I'm trying to install the script without admin rights. It's already installed. The script won't even run without admin rights and this seems like something that could be fixed. I have several other scripts installed that work fine without admin rights, this is the only script that I have to start MediaMonkey with admin rights for it to work properly.

You need to check your VirtualStore in which there will most likely be a copy of "Scripts.ini", merge this with the real version of the file and delete the one in the VirtualStore and everything should work as you expect.
Download my scripts at my own MediaMonkey fansite.
All the code for my website and scripts is safely backed up immediately and for free using Dropbox.

jstrickland wrote:Thanks for letting me test Lyricator.
I have it installed and when I try to run it on a track the screen flashes and then I am taken to "file:///C:/Users/James/AppData/Local/Temp/Lyricator.htm" in my web browser. This page lists the track I was trying to tag with lyrics. When I return to MediaMonkey the Lyricator window is empty except for the little loading wheel, which is stopped, and the save and close buttons.
I can see the settings for Lyricator in the Options menu, but the option to change the Source is greyed out.

Thanks for continuing to work on this!
What is your default web browser?
Maybe it's some setting in Internet explorer that's causing it...
