Re: MediaMonkey iTunes plugin (d_itunes4.dll)
ok, tried that. i notice that when i go to the device configuration and set the Advanced recovery option to Debug=2 i need to apply changes before i can sync. When i press Apply the value for the device configuration is set to "Do nothing", it does not change to my setting. could that be why i dont get any output from the debugView?markstuartwalker wrote:Set the filter to d_itunes4

Is there anyway the plugin could delete files in the cache when a track is removed from a playlist that the plugin
knows about?

Version 2179 didn't seem to change anything, MM still crashed during the sync with iTunes.
I just wanted to say I found a work around for my issues. The problem definitely seems to be with MM4 and not the script. I reformatted my computer and started fresh. It seems the maximum amount of songs I can sync is around 1000, at a time. MM hangs during the 'preparing list of files' initialization for a few seconds then if it makes it out of its unresponsiveness it will sync the songs.
I made a playlist with a song limit of 1000, synced, increased the limit to 2000, synced, and so on until everything was synced.
How do I use the Itunes plugin??
I know this might be a simple question but Im new to MM. I decided a few weeks ago to get rid of Itunes and found that MM had some good reviews. So now that I have installed it I find out that since I updated my Itouch to the new version that MM will not work unless I install a plugin. I installed the plug in and can see it on the "tree" to the left. But now what??..It still doesnt see my itouch. Or do I use it in Itunes??....I have moved some music around in my Itunes library and MM recognizes it but I still cant get in on my Itouch..Or Im scared to hit the wrong button and loose all my music. Can someone please guide me thru the proccess or point me somewhere with screenshots of how to do this??...Thanx

WOW.... this seems almost like the issue I am having... I have 3,000 songs on my IPOD that are trying sync and MM4 freezes leaving me with the exact same message.
Tried lowering the # of songs below 1,000 at sync and it still won't get out of the "preparing list of files" stage.

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes plugin (d_itunes4.dll)
So is this just a bug? I'm trying to sync my MM library (~6,000 songs) to iTunes now, and I'm stuck on the "Preparing list of files" messages. Did anybody get this to work?
UPDATE: I actually just closed and re-opened both applications, and then the sync ran fine, even on 6,500 songs. I did get 18 exceptions that were supposed to be listed in a log file, and I couldn't find that log file, but after I played a few songs and re-synced, it was able to sync 8 of those 18 (I got 10 exceptions after that sync). So maybe after a few more syncs, everything will be perfect. This is really a great plug-in. Thanks!

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes plugin (d_itunes4.dll)
OK. Where is the instruction manual for this?
I want to use this so I can sync my MM music to my iPhone 4.
I installed the plug in. When I start to sync with iTunes, it not only begins to populate my iTunes library, but it actually starts to copyall 12 thousand of my mp3's to another folder! I had to quit MM to get the process to stop. My hard drive would explode...
Surely this is not what it is supposed to do? I don't want to have 12,000 duplicate files on my computer...
Any tips?

That is what it's supposed to do. Please read the first post in the thread, it has detailed info and also tells the location of the manual for the plugin.sean wrote:OK. Where is the instruction manual for this?

Problems with "Playcount"- Sync
I have a Problem with the Playcount Sync. It only works in one Direction: MediaMonkey - iTunes.
Songs played on my iPod are not counted in MediaMonkey after synchronication.
I use MM 4.0.2.126, MediaMonkey iTunes plugin 4.0.3.2179 and iTunes 10.5.2.11.
Any Ideas?
Thanks

Podcast Support in iTunes?
It seems that podcasts transferred into iTunes from MM 4 via d_itunes4.dll are not "marked" as podcasts in iTunes. They are treated as music.
This is very annoying, as the iPhones special handling of podcasts allows for 30 seconds rewinds and for listening at 2x and 0.5x speed, which is very useful in a lot circumstances, and I use a lot.
They also do NOT appear in the podcasts "view"on iTunes or the iPhone.
Any chance this can be fixed?
Alternatively, is there a work around where I can force iTunes to recognise them and podcasts and treat them appropriately?

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes plugin (d_itunes4.dll)
So if I am just using iTunes to put songs on my iPhone once in a while, there is no harm in disabling the cache, right? I mean it just seems silly to duplicate so many of my files for the sake of putting some different songs on my iPhone maybe one every couple months.
