Metro Player Layout Poll
Metro Player Layout Poll
Greetings
I'm working on a Windows 8 matching metro style skin ,but I'm bit unsure for the player layout.
Please help me to find a nice and useful Metro Player layout .
Player should be touch screen friendly ,this means big control buttons and enough space around the objects,
also it's necessary to reduce the numbers of control elements (should be work also on smaller screens).
So please vote for a layout you prefer A, B, C,
also for AArt and control buttons ,that you think there should be include.
I plan to made a light and dark version from Theme and different colors for the Player (like in example B: ,or similar )
Metro Player Layout's
Current the dark metro theme look like this:(include a new metro matching icon set)
If you have any ideas about a different layout let me know!
happy voting

Re: Metro Player Layout Poll
I like A and C, BUt due the touch features in A I would move Ratings above track title and in C I would put Time Above track progress bar.

'A' for me, mate. With all buttons.
The only choice.

Re: Metro Player Layout Poll
I voted for C. The seeker is too close to the playback buttons in the other design that it might be accidentally touched.

Hi Dread
As usual your skins are well laid out and functional with a good pleasing neutral colour scheme.
My only suggestion is to make the song title as big as feasible so those with remotes can see it from the couch.

Actually the colour schemes aren't that bad but I doubt I will be going with Windows 8 any time soon.rovingcowboy wrote:if that is what windows 8 looks like then they have gone back to kindergarden.

I too held out with XP for the longest time even though I had a fairly recent homebuilt computer. I was forced to learn and use Windows 7 to serve my clients and despite my distaste for everything M$, they actually got it right with 7. I can think of much to complain about except the price and the different version BS.
Never crashes, quick and not a lot of crapware, and fairly well laid out. Audio also handled quite well. is No reason not to upgrade unless you have a stable system and really like XP. I have a feeling that Windows 8 is going to be a disaster for anyone over 20 years old.
Peace through music

I love metro and I love your approach to it.
Doesn't look like chalk lines at all. Finally people stop putting gradients fancy fonts and other unnecessary stuff everywhere. Why does everyone love the Iphone-design but so few people realize hopw beautiful metro is.
Thanks for doing this. Please finish soon. I hate working with badly designed programms.
I like C but they all are good.

Greetings
Hm,votes don't give a clear direction as i expected,
but one looks to be clear, Player should have AArt and all Buttons ,when i look to the votes!
At the moment the player look like this:
the smallest size the player have to work is 1024 pix,
right and left side button areas have 270 pix (540 pix)
info area on the center have 480 pix and is not re sizable ,but stay at the center,
i think this is a good compromise from layout and space breakdown and don't look to empty on large screens.

Yes mate, I want all buttons. Why not? They are there for us.
'A' looks to be the most functional, but if you can come up with something better, then all good.

Re: Metro Player Layout Poll
I think so too, although I'd prefer to have the Art to either side instead of in the middle like the last screenshot.

Re: Metro Player Layout Poll
I like it. Actually I'd say it's pretty perfect.
Ah - I'll look at it again .....
After looking at it again I still think it's perfect.
