Encode and Decode, Lame MP3 back to WAV
If I convert a Lame mp3 file back to a WAV file. Is it bit accurate to the original WAV file it originally came from ?
Because in the process of compressing it, some data is 'lost' hence the 'lossy' term. Our ears can only 'hear' so much, which is what the encoding algorythms try to figure out which bits to keep and which to discard.
The best any de/re-coder could so is an approximation of the orginal.
If you want exact bit for bit you need to use only 'lossless' formats.
